This was actually a huge disappointment for me. One of my most anticipated games and it just does not look strong at all. Graphically very mediocre, especially for a first party title, and mechanically speaking it also looks very unpolished.
This looks so disappointing it hurts. But I guess that's what happens when you want a game made with a 1 year dev cycle
I agree with the overall points that single player is a total dud (worst since Halo 2 tbh), but a lot of this review is unnecessarily harsh sounding.
Preach, 343 needs to read this.
Thank god someone else brought this up. Either take away radar or give us one that's at least decent. If 30m range in the beta was too much, how about 22-25m instead?
Currently the only thing I think it's useful for it's seeing enemies who are in close proximity but on a different elevation than you.
TBH I think collectively people aren't as enthusiastic about Halo as they once were so I think some people are sleeping on Halo 5, esp after Halo 4's weak MP.
Big mistake though, Halo 5's multiplayer is killer. I see it doing well more in the long term.
Just sitting here waiting for SA3.
Can we talk about how all of the units in the first game were all one color? Like yea I get that it helps distinguish the different factions, but to an unnecessary degree.
It sounds lame and shallow, but this one of the only things I really want to see get changed from the first game.
Looks great.
They do need to make the nitrous effect more dramatic though. I can't even tell when they are using it, unlike Underground which had a really nice cinematic effect for it.
As a diehard Halo fan, it hurts to say how painfully average this game looks. For being Microsoft's biggest title, its honestly inexcusable how small of an upgrade this is from Halo 4
Come on DICE. Just rip off Rogue Squadron for the flight gameplay. It's what everyone wants for that portion of the game.
I am actually relieved this type of sequel isn't happening.
Honestly one of the hugest draws of the first game is the immense charm that the characters, art, and music had, something that is sorely missing from this concept. This looks like a forced attempt to cater more towards the Xbox fanbase.
Don't get me wrong I would still LOVE a sequel to Kameo (though since George Andreas is no longer there I'm not sure how confident in it I would be).
Hell yea. Microsoft seems to be the only company who knows how to properly rerelease games these days.
Fuck all these other devs who keep just rereleasing last gen games at a barely higher resolution. If you aren't going to overhaul it like this or Halo:CEA don't even bother with such quick lazy cash grabs.
Unfortunately I have to agree with most of this. Though to compare Skyward Sword to Metroid Other M was a bit of a stretch I thought. SS was pretty damn good despite how linear it was.
I much prefer a giant compilation like this (for half the price of a normal game I might add) than the quick lazy rereleases of games that came out no more than a year or two ago.
I'd much rather have FREE Map packs and have the OPTION to purchase these weapons/skins/etc. at an accelerated pace.
If anything THIS is how DLC should be done.
How did this get so many disagrees? This is probably the most objective comment on this entire article.
I get that you fanboys love this series and that fallout 4 will probably be a GOTY contender when it comes out, but why can't you leave your bias aside and objectively critique the game's visuals? No one is saying the game will be bad, just that it looks bad for a next gen exclusive game.
Granted there are some environmental shots in the trailer tha...
God damn this game is ugly. Crysis 2 on 360 looks better than this.
Seeing how Chris Seavor (voice and kinda the "lead guy" on the game) is no longer at Rare, chances of a sequel, especially a great one aren't too promising
This would explain why this game looks so subpar. The concept for this is so strong, but it is such a rough looking game.
