Final Fantasy Director: PS3 Is The Ideal Console For Final Fantasy XIII

A new scan that features an interview with Final Fantasy XIII's Director, Motomu Toriyama, has been found online by FF13 Vids. From my understanding, Toriyama talks about the Playstation 3 being an ideal console for Final Fantasy XIII and about a possible game multiplayer.

By ideal he means that no one owns it outside of japan so they wont have to go thru the trouble and cost of localizing it into english.

Maybe b/c the "white engine" has only been built up from the cell processor and RSX??? if this was to go to the 360 it will take time and wont be a same day release for month or that matter. Same with MetalGear4. But then again capcom said Nero's Devil hand move was only possible on the PS3 and now its on the Xbox360. If FF13 is not announced for Multi platform by the SquareEnix press party, it'll probably stay on PS3. Afterall Sony does own a big chunk of SquareEnix's shares, but never say never.

A: White Engine is ALREADY running on 360, accourding to S-E .. it was actualy build to make easier to make multiplataform games.

regarding exclivity this gen i don't trust what 3rd party devs say anymore, though i would say FF13 has 95% chance of remaining exlcusive on ps3.

didn't ubisoft and capcom release officail statments saying their games(assassin creed and DMC4 respectivly) would remain exclusive, look what happened to them

i'm just hoping the 360 gets one of these nova crystallis (or whatever it is) series of games, and that it is a full fledged, independent game on it's own, not an offshoot or sequel of one of the others. square said that these games are independent of each other, but in the same universe, so...

and there is nothing to trust about exclusivity... it's not like choosing a religion, or political party... each company is going to choose the consoles to put games on that will be the best economically, and that's all there is too it. when this much money is involved, there is no such thing as loyalty or honesty.

Wouldnt be looking like CG game play considering that XBox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII would have to lose alot of details to go multi thats why the Final Fantasy XIII is only for PS3 and plus Square Enix didnt say that White Engine is running on XBox 360 when there isnt any details about it.

S-E talked 3x about the White Engine on 360, in the "SquareEnix Goes Multiplataform" interview, in the Project Sylph interview and in the solid rumors about the NextGen MMO.

A. I definatly missed the interview where SquareEnix said they were going to use the "white engine" on Project Sylph. Do you have a link??? The only person ive heard say that the white engine is open platform is sakaguchi... and he works for Microsoft so.... there no way it is confirmed or credible info. but i would love to see that interview you're talking about....i DO remember hearing Squareenix stating that the "whiteengine" is built ground up from the cell processor's SPE. They licensed the Unreal3 engine to make nextgen multiplatform transitions easier, the white engine wasn't build for going multi. It wouldn't make sense for Squareenix to license the unreal3 engine if they had one that can go multi all along.

B. where in earth did you hear that sony dont own any S-E shares anymore??? shares just dont dissapear after a merger (and enix didnt buy out squaresoft they just merged, theres no way enix would have been able to just buy them out, majority of SquareEnix is still run by the same old squaresoft executives) anyways here my proof

then Blu-Ray has already become a celebrity around the first year of PS3's launch. More space means more high quality textures and more complex objects, CELL defines the processing of complex and manipulatable geometry plus there is whole lot of life on the basis of procedural synthesis on PS3. So

are clearly most PS3 suited features. Talk of 360, well, the discussion basically ends with the mention of shaders and GPU, there isn't much beyond that and that is a feature that PS3 can clearly manage as exhibited by the beauty of MotorStorm and VF5 or the upcoming Lair...and even being a very difficut system to develop for even at such early a stage.
