Rumor: L.A. Noire in development for Xbox 360?

Quentyn from AnalogHype.com writes: Buzz and talk surrounding the (once-thought) Playstation 3 exclusive game LA Noire has been silenced, for one reason or another. It was brought to our attention recently, however, that the development team (Team Bondi) is still actively working on the game, suggesting that more people are needed to speed up the development of this title.

The Team Bondi site also still suggests that the game is coming out for more than one platform, as information about the game indicates on their site.

Additionally, a sharesholders conference-call held a while ago suggests that LA Noire was most likely coming to the Xbox 360 as well, and that "It is being developed for next-generation systems." All signs seem to be pointing to multiplatform, but nothing is official yet.

Wow. That looks like it could be true based on the evidence above.

Rockstar is stabbing Sony !!!

Rockstar is Rockstar because of Sony and PS

---------

Well Rockstar used Sony's console to be popular !! Xbox ??? Xbox was a joke compared to PS2

and if Rockstar goes PS3 exclusive, it will even be better because they can make huge games with no limitations

ogwilson5489d ago

Sony didn't "make" Rockstar though. Rockstar made Rockstar with their great games. I'm sure that if GTA series was timed exclusive for the original Xbox, it would've done just as well.

Sony Rep5489d ago (Edited 5489d ago )

Yeah. It would have done just aswell on a console that has no global appeal.

-Jack Tretton, CEO, President of Sony Computer Entertainment America

ZuperAmazingCooKie5489d ago

It was announced for Next-gen consoles, but demoed for PS3.

raztad5489d ago (Edited 5489d ago )

Its OK to me, nothing to worry about, whereas is coming to the PS3 as well. Lets be real with this one, upcoming games from Rockstar will not look better than GTA4, there you have Mafia 2, Read Dead Redemption, dont expect any graphical jump.

That said, GTA is the franchise that truly makes Rockstar shines, aside from GTA other franchises can be good but arent blockbusters. This one, LA Noire, is a new IP, we know NOTHING about it and even if it is a PS3 exclusive it just will not move consoles as an exclusive GTA could.

pain777pas5489d ago

They are a third party developer and they specialize in timed exclusives in the past only really so no suprise this gen its count on first party games only being exclusive. Look at NG2 recently for proof and Tales of Vesperia which I truly thought was not coming to the PS3 low and behold it seems like you just have to give everything time and it will pop up on your system.

Dark General5489d ago

This info has been out for awhile now.

gaffyh5489d ago

This info is quite old, I remember seeing it about a year ago, Rockstar couldn't afford to have LA Noire PS3 exclusive so they decided that they might make it multiplat. Nothing new here.

morganfell5489d ago (Edited 5489d ago )

Yawn....Old. How did this get approved? Oh, never mind. Sensationalism is the order of the day. Stories like this should never have made it as they are positively mummified:

http://www.1up.com/do/newsS...

"And in one last surprising tidbit about L.A. Noire, Crago stated that the game -- which has only ever been officially announced for the PlayStation 3 -- is also in the works for the Xbox 360."

See the date? 2008.

EDIT:

Just so the uninformed do not walk off of a cliff, this is not and never was the PS3 exclusive coming to the PS3:

http://kotaku.com/5138316/l...

"Team Bondi did a similar staff drive about this time last year, when it listed the game as planned for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. Remember, kids, this isn't the PlayStation exclusive franchise that Rockstar promised Sony. That's the next one."

http://kotaku.com/gaming/no...

"No exclusive GTAIV content? No sweat off the PS3's balls. Sony have announced that Rockstar will be developing an exclusive, all-new franchise for the PS3. And no, it's not LA Noire, it's something else. Michael Shorrock, Director of 3rd party operations at SCEA:

As part of our long standing relationship with Rockstar, and the incredible success for both companies with the cultural icon that is Grand Theft Auto, we've agreed to the PlayStation exclusive rights of the next great franchise from the Rockstar studios."

How about I submit a story saying Ninja Gaiden II is coming to the PS3? That news is old but nowhere near as ancient as the above story...which can't even get right the fact it isn't a rumor.

myothercar5489d ago

Nice post morgan. Sums up all the relevant articles from the past.

It's odd how this one story keeps coming back again and again, as if it's never been told before. Maybe the game just isn't under anyone's radar.

mugoldeneagle035489d ago

The loss of exclusiveness for L.A. Noire has been talked about since last year before E3 '08. Why are people surprised now?

After the success of GTA, why wouldn't they want to take it multiplat...Anyways, I haven't really heard much about this game in ahwile, and don't really care until I do.

The only thing I'm looking forward to from Rockstar is Red Dead and maybe the new Max Payne

RememberThe3575489d ago

L.A. Noire was never apart of the exclusive deal Sony made with Rockstar. So why would they make it exclusive.

EDIT: Thank you morgan.

morganfell5489d ago

NP 357:).

Several people, including myself and a friend of mine, posted comments over at Analogue hype. Now they have deleted everyone's remarks because they were called on the carpet for their error. That qualifies as reason to never approve one of their stories here again. They are not interested in accuracy or else they would have stepped up, owned up, and laughed about it. They would have been forgiven for their error and everyone one would have gone on about their business. Now they come off looking like ripten.com and that is not good.

I was expecting a huge game but I guess not !

Microsoft spends the money and limits the games

HDgamer5489d ago

lol hydro, this was not the game Sony had an exclusive deal with. This was already announced back in 08 that this game will be on both platforms.

HDgamer5489d ago

wow two disagrees but yet no one can prove that there was an exclusive deal to begin with.

Spike475489d ago (Edited 5489d ago )

then there couldn't be a better time for Sony to step it up further.

for me, MS has two announce either 1 BIG exclusive, or two "good" exclusives in order for their show to be on par with the other big companies.

What I mean is, announcing a multiplatform game doesn't cut it.

PirateThom5489d ago

If Microsoft announce this as multiplatform at E3 as their BIG ANNOUNCEMENT it will be a huge disappointment.

Not because it's multiplatform, because I've suspected for a while it is, but because it's perfectly obvious Microsoft are low on ideas.

mrmikew20185489d ago

you are absolutly right, I just want to know if their bank account is big enough to win them another E3

Mike134nl5489d ago (Edited 5489d ago )

Microsoft still got a lot of areas to improve on there are already a lot of good games comming out for the xbox 360 even though they are not exclusive.

A even lower priced xbox 360 slim, (with no hardware problems) could be the biggest thing for microsoft to do Nintendo already proved a console doesn't need much games to sell good.

LarVanian5489d ago

I wouldn't care if it became multi-plat, as long as the quality remains that is all that matters.

yoshiroaka5489d ago (Edited 5489d ago )

Im with you there dude.

But i guess people dont want to hear about gamers being at peace in the console wars. I guess were the hippies, lol.

George Sears5489d ago (Edited 5489d ago )

On a company stand point, why oh why would Rockstar even make exclusives anymore? I mean, GTAIV sold like 12 million and the sales were split half and half, why would Rockstar neglect the other half and even now that consoles are a lot more costly to program for than last gen?

Spike475489d ago

Maybe because they want to make something special.

George Sears5489d ago

Even Sony say that third party exclusives are last gen, that the only true exclusives lie on first party games.

Third party exclusives are a thing of the past and not many devs are doing such a thing anymore.

Bordel_19005489d ago (Edited 5489d ago )

Multiplat games will always come after the exclusive games on my to-buy list.

When a game goes multiplatform, it automaticaly gets pushed down on my list. I'll buy an exclusive game before a multiplatform game just to support exclusivity.

L.A. Noire And Bully — Rockstar's Lost Gems That Deserve A Sequel As Much As GTA

Hanzala from eXputer: "I do appreciate GTA 6, Rockstar, but if I could trade it for a new L.A. Noire or a Bully game, I'd do so in a heartbeat."

Skuletor22d ago

How are they lost? You can get L.A. Noire on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch and Bully is on the PS5 and Xbox Series too.

Psychonaut8522d ago

I want a new Manhunt game. But that will never happen.

Demetrius22d ago

Mfs are too sensitive nowadays and would cry instead of being concerned bout real world problems

Demetrius22d ago

Whenever gta 6 launch we won't be getting another rockstar title for another 10 years lol but on the positive side they bou to come back n show how open world supposed to be done 🔥

Skuletor21d ago

I won't expect any singleplayer DLC like IV's The Lost & Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony after it launches either

12 Years Later, L.A. Noire is Still an Excellent Experience

There was a lot to love about Rockstar and Team Bondi's 2011 open world title.

One I never finished. I've been looking at the ps4 version off Amazon the last few months just never bit

Knightofelemia126d ago

It's worth playing LA Noire is one of my favorite Rockstar games. But I would also check out pawnshops or thrift stores if you want the game dirt cheap. Someone may have been dumb enough to dump the game.

andy85127d ago

Baffles me when people have these opinions about acclaimed games 😂

RhinoGamer88127d ago

100% agree... not perfect, but an engaging/refreshing experience.

sagapo127d ago

Agree, at time of release those facial expressions were amazing! They still hold strong even today imo.
The game on its own was good. Something fresh, but sidequests were a bit meh after a while.

Nacho_Z127d ago

I picked it up on sale recently, going to play it next summer. I'll get more out of it this time, first time around I treated the open world like it was GTA and goofed about, whereas now I'll play it with more respect. RDR2 has trained me well.

I also hadn't read Raymond Chandler at the time so presumably that'll add another layer of enjoyment too.

1nsomniac127d ago (Edited 127d ago )

Absolutely stunning game. So underrated. Played through it again last year and it still stands up so well. Like many of rockstars games it’s actually a far better experience on PC. I didn’t enjoy it as much on console. Completed it at least 3 times on pc.

The rumours of a sequel are awesome news despite the fact I think Rockstar are now the shell of the company they once were.

SyntheticForm127d ago

Team Bondi made a hell of a game.

Six Best Historically Accurate Games

GF365: "Out of the many historically accurate games out there, these are our picks for the six best games that are historically accurate. While these games aren't completely accurate, they depict the times and situations of history well. Plus, they're all a lot of fun to play, too."

Historically accurate from the past is tough to truly know and judge especially the farther you go back because history is written from the people in power and doesn’t mean it’s the truth just the narrative they wanted to tell.

I don’t care about historically accurate in most games because they are games not biographies or history books . Just make the game fun , good gameplay and such .

Ghost of Tsushima wasn’t historically accurate in many things but I loved the game . Many examples like it .
