They probably have voices recorded but just haven't put them into this trailer. Maybe an updated version of this trailer at E3 with voice acting?
Really hope we see this game come out next year sometime, don't think I could bear waiting till 2011.

The game will supposedly have voice-over (this is Nomura after all), but voice actors have apparently NOT been announced yet. Sadly I can't back up the first part with anything besides common sense.

I don't give a damn if this game has sucky graphics, goes multiplatform, or doesn't even sell as well as FFXIII...I just want to play this game already dammit! I get goosebumps watching VSXIII trailers. The mood, character designs, and latin music fit well together. Sort of like the Kingdom Hearts 2 trailer we got to watch for like a year before it's release. Man, you gotta love the Kingdom Hearts team. They sure know how to make things so epic. They made Disney characters epic, for goodness sake! lol

the game just dropped off my radar when i saw this trailer, i love what they did with kingdom hearts but the characters here are detestable, the main protaganist held promise in the original trailers, but now i can see their art direction, high-school JRPG. Bentleys, Mercs and bed-hair abound. Its sad to see where the genre has gone with better hardware, the directors are closer to achieveing their own weird imaginings instead of letting the player imagine the world around the foundations they build for us.
Voice acting is one of the worst things to happen to final fantasy. hopefully ff12's example might be developed and made better this generation

Judging by the small comment history YOU have, you would praise this to the HEAVENS if this was a multiplat game.

Which, by the way, from what I just saw, you might NEVER see on the 360 unless SE does their multidisc BS and Nomura has a gun to his head. Not only is Nomura a PS3 fanboy, but from what I just saw...this might NOT be POSSIBLE on the 360.

Do you think VERSUS looks better than XIII besides the art-style? I mean XIII is being ported to the 360 and Im expecting both versions be pretty much the same, so if XIII looks roughly the same than VERSUS probably VERSUS could be done on the 360 as well.

Kingdom Hearts 2 would have been if Disney hadn't step in and veto it. Kingdom Hearts 2 was going to be a more darker theme game but Disney step it and mess everything up. I cannot wait for this baby. A dark theme and lots of swords? I can't fricken wait.

As far as I can remember, Versus isn't exactly a spinoff, more of a paralell game, well, seperate anyways. I think XIII is turn-based, whereas Versus is not.

Two separate games. Two different stories. Different main characters. IN the same universe. Almost like a sequel...only its not.
Just like what Resistance 1&2 (PS3) is to Resistance Retribution (PSP). Not quality wise but story wise. Both in the same universe.

Basically, there are 3 teams. Everyone is given the same myth about this crystal. Each team makes a game according to their interpretation. This is Noruma's team version. It's suppose to be the first FF to be rated M.

Also, it's going to be played similar to KH oppose to turn based like FFXIII.

This is the trailer from Square sigma event last August. The same trailer was shown at Tokyo Games Show 2008 but extended and voiced.

At the end of the DKS3713 trailer is the line, “There is nothing either good or bad, but only thinking makes it so.” This is a quote from Shakespeare’s famous play, Hamlet, about Prince Hamlet of Denmark whom exacts revenge on his uncle Claudius for the murder of his father. Square-Enix has admitted to the similarities, but aside from the direct quote, what else links FF Versus XIII to Hamlet?

Company representatives stated that FF Versus XIII is to be the darkest Final Fantasy game yet. That’s perfectly in tone with Hamlet’s themes of madness, treachery, revenge, and melancholy - for which the play was adjudged one of the most influential tragedies in the English language.

In Hamlet, a long-standing feud exists between Denmark, the protagonist’s kingdom, and Norway. In Versus, Noctis Lucis Caelum is the last heir to his kingdom where the last crystal in the world is also kept. Against the increasing modernization of other kingdoms, Lucis’s nation battles with another for possession of the crystal.

Fortinbras, despite meaning “strong armed” in French, has a reputation for being associated with light (no thanks to Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams). Lucis is seen fighting a man dressed in a white robe, who seems to utilize spells of light. This could be the opposing Prince in Versus, but most likely, as in the play when Fortinbras brings hope of peace to the Danish, their meeting in a secluded location indicates he may not be the enemy he seems to be.

The heroine of Versus, Stella Nox Fleuret, also seems at odds with Lucis; like Ophelia, the daughter of Polonius (Claudius’ advisor), was with Hamlet. Though courted by him, Ophelia was asked by Claudius to spy on Hamlet. His love and eventual conflict with her corresponds to the relationship between Stella and Lucis. So much so, that Stella’s allegiances are still unclear.

In Hamlet, Ophelia remarked how Hamlet walked into her room and simply stared at her without speaking a word. In Versus, Lucis is shy and timid when talking to Stella - and tries his best to hide it.

Lucis’ relationship with other characters bears resemblance to the characters in Hamlet. In the trailer, an old bearded man in a business suit is seated at a meeting and his eyes are just like Lucis. The chance of their being related is one speculation; that he plays the part of Claudius, Hamlet’s uncle, is a more automatic one. Lucis’ three companions also correspond to Hamlet having two school friends (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern) and one true friend (Horatio). The former two have orders to spy on Hamlet, who feigns madness to hide his revenge plot. Who the spies of the Versus quartet are, is unknown, but it is apt to mention how the two spying friends were killed in Hamlet.

More than anything, Hamlet dies at the end of the play. Will Lucis suffer the same fate? Hamlet and Ophelia never fought each other with magical runes and multiple weapons, so there’s a fair chance that Tetsuya Nomura, director of the project, has contributed his own share of tweaks. As it stands, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, confirmed only for the Playstation 3, is looking to be an epic, surpassing all Final Fantasy games before it. It seems only right that its story should draw upon a classic like Hamlet.

Yes, this game uses Crystal Tools, which is currently utilized in Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and Rapture.
