I was also in the beta. While I was working 48 hours a week, I used to just pop in it for about an hour each day after the 12 hour day. And I had minor withdrawal symptoms when it ended. Though some of you may look at me like "omg get a life! You're crazy!" you don't understand the stressful environment of a 12 hour job. So I usually relax myself playing the KZ2 beta. But since it was over, I literally CRAVED to play it again. I then played a bunch of Resistance 2 to fill me in. So I'm not that crazy :P

Obviously people have the same kind of attachment to something like Halo 3, Gears of War, SOCOM and even Resistance. But Killzone 2 is to me is the one that I truely want. Feb 27th is almost here!

Having actually read the review, I believe they couldn't give it a 10 because it lacked some of the sheer genius of a 10/10 game. The ending is apparently a little screwed up as it suddenly gets ridiculously hard as you just have to fend off a seemingly neverending horde of hellghast, and it feels like quite an anticlimax.
So we're looking at stunning graphics and brutal chunky gameplay but a few annoying design choices and less-than-stellar campaign.

It's because they're not comparing games from both platforms; rather they're advising PS3 owners which game they should buy next. They can't give every PS3 game top marks now can they - that wouldn't be too helpful. Their reviews tend to be in line with the general consensus.

Sony really need to kick up their advertising several notches for this release. Microsoft are always very very good with advertising and hyping games, you couldn't move without seeing an advert for HALO each time a new version was released and Sony need to do this. So many great titles like Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm that were released with barely a whimper from Sony's advertising department.

My point wasn't just about this story, I've literally read half a dozen where I noticed they were all saying best graphics on the system or best on Playstation. They mostly freely admitted it was better looking than Gears 2 so there is no doubt about it, but why not just come out and say it? Unless you have 2 grand for a Ninja PC this is the best graphic you can buy, and in motion even trumps Crysis in certain areas like animation and hit responses.

Like Shane Kim (the one above me) said they had no such problem showering such praise on Gears 2, a glitchy bugfest, why is it so hard now with the undisputed leader, polished in every aspect. Have you heard of any major bugs in Killzone? No? I dont think you will either because of the sheer amount of polish gone into it.

Hats off to Sony and GG for going back to a time before patches, and actually finishing a game before releasing it, when the temptation to rush it and put it out with Gears must have been huge.

Basically the trailer is made using the assets of the engine, however this does not always reflet the actual gameplay visuals.

I am a proud owner of both systems so my comments are not biased to one more than the other. I am so excited for this game to come out and hearing that the multiplayer rocks makes it even better. My only concern is the PS3's online setup. I have to admit that 360 seems a lot more user friendly and stable than the PS3's online set up. Once PS3 gets to where 360 is in regards to online play, it will truly be the leading force. As for now, I have to rely on the 360 for multiplayer. Being able to have a party, the functionality of finding, hosting games has to be done on my XBOX. BUT, for graphics, and the best games like MGS4, KZ@, LBP, watching BLURAY, I relay on my PS3. I adore both systems, but truly cannot wait until Playstation gets through the growing pains on online action. Regardless, KZ2 will be a juggernaught and I took that friday off from work. I am so frigging stoked!

Im looking forward to Killzone and i just know its going to be good. But will it be good enough to still want to play it in 6months?
I loved COD4 but on its second play though found myself getting annoyed at its basic check point run and one way gameplay and spawning enemies, things i didn't notice on my first play through. Im hoping Killzone isn't going to be like this and that on my second, third and forth play through im still finding cool things to do and try. If it does still wow me then i will say that its worth the 10/10. Not until.
