Kotaku-Warhawk Getting Jetpacks In New Patch, Says GameFAQs

The release of Warhawk version 1.5 is not only bringing with it a slew of Trophies, game modes and online options, it may be bringing an entirely new vehicle type - jet packs!

There were so many sites giving Warhawk mid-high 8s. But with this update, Warhawks rasies its scores, and now is a AAA title.

Warhawk's gameplay has always changed everytime they introduce a new vehicle into the game. it makes the game more refreshing

Love this game! those trucks that make those giant sheilds are awesome

Isn't going to happen and if it does then everyone owes Gayblow a bit of respect cause I remember a post on his website where he said he "talked" to Dylan Jobe at E 4 all last year and broke this news on his website loooooooooooooong ago.

I don't like the guy and I'm sure you all are going to give me the tired "Your gayblow bit" but the truth is he said this and I'm not him.

Yeah, he's a homo but he did say this on his website. He said Jetpacks would be included, along with a single player mode of some sorts this fall. The thing was he had it up on his website in a vote form kind of thing, if memory serves. Like questions his "readers" would want him to ask Dylan and he did.

This is what he came back with after e4all last year. So, all in all, he was right on the money. I think out of all of these so called "insiders" he was one of the best, even though I didn't care for him or his work on ball point ball busters. He was funny but people made him out to be more than he was.

That's my take.

On the warhawk trophies list, one of the trophies is Where did that bug come from? Kill a person using a jetpack by ramming them with any vehicle.

I fear though, that doing everything the consumer wants, may be a bit bad for this game.

on the Playstation Blog there is a list of Trophies, one of them being ramming someone wearing a jetpack with a ground vehicle or Warhawk.

Jetpacks or parachutes.

I leaned more towards parachutes.

EDIT:

Obviously if you're over water you would still die, and if you're too high you still could be shot down.
If your Warhawk gets shot down, your opponent should still get the point, but it just adds another layer.

Imagine hitchin a ride on one of your teamates Warhawk using the jetpack.

Yes but if they added parachutes, people would just be jumping out of their planes all the time avoiding death.

I love the idea of jetpacks, but maybe we'll get parachutes in a later update.

I thought this as well unless they make it an item. Like a TOW missle, but rarer, in a hard spot to reach, and respawns slow. However, yes, the enemy would still get points, like say 7/10ths of a full kill.

personally i would love for them to make it so that your warhawk isnt automaticlly blown up when its shot down. Something about seeing smoke billowing out of it while screwdriving to the ground is very satisfying. Goes back to my days playing all the flight sims on the PC I guess. Not to mention could add a "kamikaze" aspect to it if you could have a slight input into the controls.

I hope adding jetpacks won't imbalance the game. I mean, will everyone have a jetpack? I presume it will just be a "vehicle" that you press square to get into. But it will definitely reduce the importance of tanks - in fact tanks might become almost useless if people can always just fly away from you. Which is bad. I trust they can keep this one balanced, though - in omega dawn the dropship was incredibly succeptable to warhawk attacks and the popup turrets did nothing, but broken mirror was excellently balanced.

OK, so let me start off on topic....YEAH!!!

Now, I know review scores isn't the most popular topic for discussion but, with many games getting additional maps, enemies, play modes, weapons and vehicles etc for download after release, doesn't that kind of negate all reviews scores?

I mean, WH got mid-8's if I'm not mistaken (I think it deserved much higher), and those scores are now set in stone. But here we are, with a bunch of stuff having been added already (and remember, achievements was always something held against PS3 games and we're getting trophies now)...surely those scores should either be revised, or completely ignored?

I never care about reviews as I try to make my own decisions based on my own experiences, but this is something that just occurred to me.
