US PlayStation Store Update April 24th 2008

Sev1512 yet again comes through with info before anyone else…

Here is what to expect in this Thursdays PlayStation Store update. Its really an excellent update.

Iron Man Demo (PS3)

Echochromo Demo (PS3)

LocoRoco (PSP) Full game

Kingdom Of Paradise (PSP) Full Game

COD4 Map Pack (PS3)

Eye of Judgement Add-On (PS3)

Resistance 2 Trailer (PS3)

PSOne Classic - R-Type

Also look out for some new wallpapers and themes, along with GH3 tracks, Rock Band tracks, and Karaoke Revolution tracks.

Einhander > R-Type

Einhander is better than R type

But to be honest, Einhander is a PHENOM of a shooter. There isn't a single shooter even remotely similar. Stealing and grabbing enemy weapons wasn't even heard of in a shooter till Einhander. Not to mention the position of the weapons was switchable

But as for this update, now THIS is what I'm talkin' about. If sony can have more decent updates like this, they'll be good to go

This will have to do, Soldner X should be released on the PSN later this year.

although i agree einhander was great,it was not the first game that allowed you to take the weapons of enemies and use it against them.

gaiares on genesis did this A-LONG-TIME-AGO.

check youtube.i had this game.it had story characters that reminded me of ROBOTECH and had big bosses.

the store update sounds cool if true.we'll see thursday.

...completely forgot about that one. So I guess my options are:

a) buy map pack, play for one day -> abandon map pack for MGO beta -> abandon MGO beta for GTA IV

b) do not buy map pack

I could say buy map pack later, but it would have to be after I was done with GTA IV... and that could be, well, a while.

somethingSQUISHY you wouldn't want to drop CoD4 to go play MGO because this weekend starting friday is double XP weekend on CoD4

so why not buy the map pack, play the new maps WHILE you get DOUBLE XP then ditch it sunday or mid-saturday for MGO (if they don't have more problems)

Apparently you missed the first COD Double XP weekend, finding a decent game was near impossible. The servers couldn't take it.

And both versions are completely unique to each other. Same game but all the levels are different and designed for PS3 and PSP specifically. There will probably be a nice bundle when they release.

It's so hard to say with Iron Man... but part of me feels like it could be a very good, entertaining game. The other part of me feels like it could be a waste of time.

Echochrome is an interesting idea, and I kind of dig the Escher inspired theme going on there, but I don't think I could play it for very long. The Japanese demo had me tired out before I even reached the end of it.

...but I'll definitely download the Iron Man demo.

Got Echochrome of the Japanese store sometime back. The demos a little short, training and 3 easy maps, but it certainly wets the appetite. It's a really interesting concept.

Not sure id this answers your question but you dont get cards off of Psn you get the upsate that allows you to scan the new cards in the game

Nope, you download them to your PS3, then copy them to your PSP via USB cable.

If you're so sure that it is a rumor, why spend any time commenting on it? Sev1512 has been correct numerous times with the information that he has given about store updates. You can check to see who had first word on the SSDHD add-on pack. That's right, it was Sev

Actually I had word on the SSHD pack well before Sev. I also had word on the Lair demo, the Lair patch and the Resistance Teaser. know who you're talking to before you give me sh*t.

Sev - whether you think it's true or not, and whether it IS true or not - the title for this piece is wrong. It shouldn't be listed as the acutal US Store update, as it's unofficial.

Echochrome, nice I see that it has a US release in May not just Europe. Sev1512 do you know if the demo for echochrome is the PS3 and PSP demos or is it just PS3 demo (the Japanese store has both). Have you tried remote play with Echochrome, I am curious if it's compatible. How did you get a copy of Echochrome, that doesn't look like the demo in your blog (I have the Japanese demo).

I purchased the full game from the Hong Kong store which is in English.

As far as the demo goes... its for the PS3. Not sure about a PSP demo.

Also, I havent tried it with remote play but I would assume it doesnt work so that you have to buy the PSP version. I will try tonight and let you know.

but this is a good looking update. maybe they'll hold the pixeljunk addition for a few weeks while i move on over to gta from gtp.

echochrome looks awesome. i got the japanese demo and played through a few times while my girl (who usually dismisses games) was digging it as well. music is cool and chill. if they have enough mid-difficulty levels itd be a nice zen type joint. like gardening except without all the benefits of living in the real world :)

like if they got the main theme tied into the store and then had extra junk w/ the theme that interacted specifically for the store? like a pixeljunk monsters theme that lead you toward the add-on or its other pixeljunk bretheren...

updates to the store are ok, but when are we going to start seeing some serious psone games in the mix? r-type is cool and all but, the extremely slow pace of psone titles are going to make me just switch to custom firmware for my fix. sure I can remote play some of my current existing games, but i'm not always in an area that supports wi-fi. thanks for the insight on thursday's release though.
