InfoAddict: If you're a hardcore PC gamer then you are used to hearing excuses as to why certain games only appear on consoles. Usually, these reasons take the form of "limited funding", "not enough time", or the ever-popular "PC games don't sell like the console counterparts." All valid excuses. So when Remedy, the creators behind the flashlight simulator Alan Wake, made it clear their game wouldn't be coming to PC rigs, their excuse struck me as downright bizarre.
Remedy's reasoning lacks any semblance of logic. It just comes across as an utterly strange thing to say. Honesty would have worked just fine here, something like "Piracy is an issue on the PC."
Alan Wake, from Max Payne and Control creator Remedy, is a horror classic, prompting one player to buy 4,000 copies that don’t even work.
Kind of a goody story...
On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.
Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.
Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.
Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.
Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄
So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.
I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.
Alan Wake 2 continues the writer's story, 13 years later.
Remedy has Alan Wake merch on sale, including a pretty blue thermos. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone according to plan, and many players who want a thermos find themselves without one, though it does appear that Remedy is attempting to fix things. Nevertheless, it has resulted in a lot of upset, illustrating just how much the thermos means to Alan Wake fans.
Real mature. It's understandable that this "hardcore" PC gamer (as he refers to himself) is upset at Remedy's and/or Microsoft's decision to release the game only on 360, but the last sentence really shows off his childishness. He even tries to make himself feel better, right there for the whole world to read, by assuming the game is going to suck. Isn't it funny when people openly express their immature emotional issues to the public? Why not just keep your feelings to yourself? Or else just get an Xbox 360. See, when Microsoft said that Halo 3 was going to be only on Xbox 360, I got mad at Microsoft for like a minute and then decided that I would get an Xbox 360 to play it. It's business, it's consumerism, and it's the way of this world. Stop complaining about it.
What's all the fuss? If you want to play it, buy a Xbox 360.
... Just as if you want to play a PS3 exclusive, buy a PS3. I don't see Sony releasing their games on the PC, and nobody is complaining about that.
It's understandable what Remedy/Microsoft are doing. I'm still surprised Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction got the same release date for the X360 and PC versions. A few months back i thought the PC version of those games were going to be released months after the X360 version, like Assassins Creed 1, Assassins Creed 2, Dirt 2 and Mass Effect 1.
Do like me, get a X360, PS3 and decent PC.
If you can't afford it, get a job like me :)
Simple as that.
hmm his last comment kind of killed the entire article anything he was trying to convey. I really wanted to play this game on my pc since I enjoyed both max payne and max payne 2 on my pc, but I do have a 360 so it's really no hair off my back. And like lelo said if you really want to experience everything gaming has to offer get all platforms or at least get access to all platforms.
People want Alan Wake so bad then buy a 360
There's no excuse. Alan Wake belongs to Microsoft. And Microsoft prefers to push their Xbox brand instead of PC. So, Remedy make excuses for MS. Simple. We might see Alan Wake for the PC sometime in the future though.
