Confessions: The Meanest Thing Gizmodo Did at CES 2008

CES has no shortage of displays. And when MAKE offered us some TV-B-Gone clickers to bring to the show, we pretty much couldn't help ourselves. We shut off a TV. And then another. And then a wall of TVs. And we just couldn't stop. (And Panasonic, you're so lucky that 150-incher didn't have an active IR port.) It was too much fun, but watching this video, we realize it probably made some people's jobs harder, and I don't agree with that (Especially Motorola). We're sorry.

I dont even know these guys,, maybe they did it for publicity. But they have no right pulling anyone's plug. I hope they get fired,,, I dont know about you guys, but thats like going to E3 and someone pulling the plug from the tv when you are playing a game that isnt coming out for another year,, stealing the little bit of time you have at the show. Grow up, your not in high school ne more, F@gs.

Well, although this was pretty childish, it's nice too see Gizmodo have a sense of humour.

That said, however, they crossed the line at the Motorola presentation.

I used to do that at school with a universal remote since all the TVs used the same code, so it was funny in that aspect. However the Motorola conference was on the side of bad taste, I wouldn't have liked it if it were an announcement I was awaiting.

I don't know. It seems there's a lot of snoody people here without any sense of humor.

It's a practical joke people. There not BREAKING anything. There turning of TV's. Which causes a minor inconvenience for people.

Learn to laugh at things even if there childish. Because childish or not, those things are still funny. Why do you think South Park has such high ratings? I bet a lot of you might think it's "Childish" but it's still a very funny show.

I'm sorry but this was the lamest thing any journalist/press person could ever do. Silly things like this will cause the press from being excluded from the biggest electronics show in the States. Needless to say how much it costs companies to show their stuff off. Presentations cost even more money. Think about the press that wasted time sitting there at Motorola when they could be elsewhere getting us more info on the show.

Gizmod has lost all credibility as a news source to me. If they can be this childish at the years most important electronic show, what do you think they can provide on information. Childish and skewed reports.
