Recent Twitter updates have left fans speculating that Valve is preparing their community for a massive announcement and posts by IGN that seem to tie in to this are possibly hinting at an update on the Half-Life series.
IGN Entertainment has acquired the Gamer Network family of digital brands for an undisclosed sum. As a result of the acquisition, some redundancies have been made across the UK-based organisation.
Well this can only mean one thing... more job layoffs even in the publication industry.
Probably Microsoft's fault!
They surely gave IGN the idea.
What's next IGN Pass?
But joke aside let's hope that this makes the news better compared to some of IGN branches
Oh boy! If we've learned one thing about recent news, corporate shrinkage of an industry via buyouts from those at top only leads to good things for employees and consumers!
Ummmm not sure that’s a good thing that all these review sites are under the same umbrella. There’s no guarantee that they will maintain a non-bias opinion not paid for by the highest bidder.
Ouch, that does not sounds good for Eurogamer.
With so much of the industry media that will more or less follow the same editorial line, it will be harder and harder to distinguish PR from actual journalism in a couple of years.
Thinking about it, may it explain their review score for Hellblade 2?

Fan projects Team Fortress: Source 2 and Portal 64 have shut down after Valve intervened in their development.
First they open Steam up to more AI, now they are shutting down fan projects when at one time they used to support or even give the fans jobs.
Wonder what's going on with Valve at the minute.
There's potential that Valve had already planned to bring Source 2 to TF2 officially after Counter Strike 2. It's been getting some renewed attention lately.
You got Nintendo to thank for Portal64 being taken down. As for TF2, most likely it's due to the probability of Valve working on a source 2 port themselves. It's sucks but Nintendo are the biggest pricks in the business and not letting this drag out into a huge court drama is the best decision.
"OMG they're totally announcing Half-Life 3 for real this time" article #179564564633
I bet its nothing HL3 related
So theres two ways this could play out
1) They are trolling us, this is a direct quote from the G-Man but they are just using it to hype people up, get people interested and then announce the Meet the Pryo video.
...but then again did IGN make such a big fuss over the other "Meet the..." videos ?
2) This is the real deal and they are going to tease us right up to E3 or up to another ARG which will then lead up to E3.
..."bu bu but the email said they wern't annoucing HL3 at E3". The email...is fake.
I can feel it...i can feel it...that Gabe is trolling us again.
GIVE ME HALF LIFE 3 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!! :D
Seriously tho, When HL3 is geting its first pics here on N4g i will Fap and drool my self to death.
Cant wait !
