New Releases – FIFA Street Yakuza: Dead Souls and More

March 16 2012 – There’s plenty of titles out this week though only 2 big hitters in the spotlight. EA’s Football sim in the street dubbed ‘FIFA Street‘ debuts this week, with EA Season Ticket Holders able to get their hands on the game ahead of today’s release. The freestyling and professional street scenes break away from the rules and traditions of football, bring about the flair and showboating in a more realistic fashion.

While we're at it, can we get rid of NBA Live and get NBA Street Homecourt back? Or NBA Jam?!

RetroCaptainSteve837d ago

Yeah, but we need that old school.

I miss the the PS2, GCN and Xbox days. I always preferred the arcade style sports games over the simulation entries. They were more entertaining for me to watch or play. There was a lot more variety back then as well. You had options. Now not so much.

Should RGG Studio Port Yakuza: Dead Souls, Ishin and Kenzan?

RGG Studio, the developers behind Yakuza and Judgment, have blown up recently, but should their older, obscure games be given a second chance?

Absolutely, especially ishin and kenzan. I also played the kurohyou psp game that was translated recently and had a blast. Now i want more of it but sadly the 2nd one isnt translated. Maybe RGG studio could port it to some kind of HD collection? Would be cool

Yakuza Ishin and Kenzan should totally get a remaster/port for modern consoles with a western localization. Dead Souls I'm more on the fence. I had fun with that game. But it's undoubtedly far below the franchise standard.

There was an interview where they mentioned they are giving it a second thought just because Ghost of Tsushima did so well, previously they were not convinced those games would find an audience in the west.

Personally I would love it if they ported these over.

Do Not Sleep On Yakuza: Dead Souls

Yeah, Yakuza: Dead Souls is very loud and very dumb, but sometimes that's exactly what you really need.

It's the best zombie game I played with a very mutual serious tone story that does not take itself to a serious if that makes sense

I highly recommend you play this game I just wish they would update the controls because the controls are just kind of weird. But you get used to it after a few hours

REALAS1466d ago

Very fun game. I would love a sequel. The first person controls were hard at first, but once you learn the trick to quick aim, its cake. Another overlooked classic.

Get to the Top sang by Majima is alone a reason to play this hidden gem.

This game was garbage, no I’m not talking about the story or whatever I mean the core gameplay it was absolute rubbish.
