RA "2012 is shaping up to be the rebirth of the mech-based shooter genre just as 2009 saw the revitalization of fighting games. We already know about Armored Core V and Hawken, but now acclaimed developer Day 1 Studios is returning to their robotic roots with Reign of Thunder, a new free-to-play mech IP from the studio that brought us MechAssault on the Xbox.
TJ Wagner, creative director on Reign of Thunder, was kind enough to spill some information on the new project, including the team's inspiration to go back to the genre, the game's customization features, micro-transactions, and more. "
Gamesta.com gets a ton more news from Wargaming. They're preparing a worldwide assault with a 15th office to open in Tokyo. They're also updating their online accessibility and even got a new console title in the works. It's being made by Day One, makers of F.E.A.R. and such. They're working on a MechAssault title right now.
