"Man I remember the days that I would play NFL Blitz 2000 on PlayStation one, fast forward more then a decade later and here I am starting off this new year with NFL Blitz again. Brings back memories and surprisingly still makes new ones. Right when I played my first game I could see that this is just a cleaner version of the series which is good. Its not broke so don’t fix it right? This game is cleaner with HD gameplay at 60 fps making it the best looking and responsive NFL Blitz to date. From being able to play classic play now blitz to the other game modes such as Blitz Battles, Blitz Gauntlet, Elite League, and the option to play Co-op online."
It seems now is the time to capitalise on a renewed acceptance of, dare we say it, the video game side of sports video games, and here are five classic arcade titles that really need to come back.
Sick and tired of only being given the choice of playing Madden when it comes to football video games? Westapo of Gaming Rebellion goes over two of his favorite non-Madden games that are still a ton of fun to play: Tecmo Super Bowl or the NES and NFL Blitz for PS3/Xbox 360. Both games hold up remarkably well.
When NFL Blitz rebooted under EA Sports in 2012, with the franchise's creator back on the case, it lacked nearly all of the oomph that made the 1997 original so appealing, even to non-sports fans. No late hits, no over-the-top bodyslams. Quarterbacks weren't really sacked so much as they were shoved to the ground. Receivers were hip-checked and stumbled to the turf.
I shall make love to this game! >.<
I heard they removed late hits which is the main point of the Blitz games so I didn't bother with it.
They did but not because EA wanted to NFL wouldn't allow it.
