So it's finally over. You've played as Desmond looking through the eyes of Ezio looking through the eyes of Altair, and finally brought their two story lines to a close. So now that that's over...what now? Well fret not Assassins, for Ubisoft has plans to release DLC for your beloved franchise!
A handful of industrious gamers found some on-disk data included on the PC version of Revelations that MORE than hinted at a DLC expansion for the game. How much more? Well, here's the ripped audio. Click the link for a video breakdown.
IGN writes: "On September 11, most of the over 4,000 employees at Ubisoft Montreal returned to office in Montreal’s Mile End for the first time in three years. But hardly anyone seems happy about it, and many are furious at what they’re calling broken promises from Ubisoft leadership."
All this over working 2 days a week in the Office? Doesn’t surprise me coming from western developers.
“Montreal employees are expected to work a minimum of two days a week out of the office. "
Hmmm..I thought it was like this across Canada. My friends who work from home signed contracts saying that they would have to work two days in the office and rest from home. Guess not everyone is the same.
Meanwhile why the rest of everybody else has to go to work the old fashion way and deal with it. Certain office workers, I guess are so privileged, that somehow I’m supposed to feel bad for them.
I get that certain concerns should be addressed but most people are back to their work environments and a majority have never left. When I hear about these workers, who possibly make much more than me, complaining about an office. Probably they should check out the environment that a majority of people have to work in. Hint, it’s not some beautiful, convenient space, that’s for sure. Why I’m sure their offices aren’t a bastion of delights. There are much worse working environments.
Take a page from Insomniac’s book and see how much more productive their staff has been, being able to work from home these past three years. Also, speaking from personal experience, working from home has definitely been a boon for me as it has allowed me to save time and money from having to commute 3 hours total daily. Amongst other personal mental benefits, I’m giving my employer more work hours per day and it doesn’t bother me in the least.
Working from home isn’t possible for everyone of course. But if you have a job that can 100% be done remotely, I don’t see why that should be an issue with employers in this day and age.
why is it anyone's business how Ubisoft carries out its business with its employees?
This does not concern games and it's a big nothingburger.
"Hello everyone, we have more details to share concerning the upcoming decommissioning of online services affecting several AC titles, including additional information regarding the DLC for these titles."
When will you decommission this new one? I’m only asking so I can be happier by not buying it at full price.
The dog Chorizo from FAR CRY 6 has wheelchair legs, so is hardly a decommissioned pet. In fact very useful for digging up dirt.
MP1st talks to Ubisoft Montreal in this Rainbow Six Extraction interview regarding post-launch plans, why three-player co-op, and more.
I hope this is real... sound really good to me
I'm not watching the video because I don't want the spoilers, but the existence of the audio is interesting nonetheless.
And as long as I'm in before the people who will piss and moan because this came from the disc...
I don't understand why people hate on-disc DLC so much. It's more content for a game I like. Pile it on. I don't care whether it's from the internet or pre-packaged on the disc.
Who ever said on-disc DLC was completed anyway? They may have just had a convinient time to crank out some of the assets for a planned DLC, such as recording dialogue while the actors were already in the studio to record for the base game. Saves time and money for sure. They may have just got a head start and included what they had on the disc to be finished post-release.
rip off dlc on disk for an already bombed out game
This new assasins creed scored the lowest scores in the series history averaging lower than an 80
I felt that there would be some kind of single player DLC for the game because when you go to Animus Island (I think that's what it's called) there are two more sets of blank pillars, which usually have the 'windows' to Desmond's flashback memories.
If it's on the disc, I'll probably wait until it goes on sale or something. It's a little different from Epic Games because Epic pushed their game back, completed at least the first pack of DLC, and put it on the disc only to lock it away. By all intents and purposes, that DLC should have been a freebie since it was announced well before launch, ready at launch and on the disc.
At least Ubisoft didn't announce this months in advance. Theirs is probably just some assets, not the entirety of the content locked away.
Apparently, this contains all the revelations that Revelations should have given us :/
I won't think of this as an "on disk" DLC yet but the recorded lines show that this would be quite big if it were an Assassin's Creed-like gameplay sequence (and not Desmond's Journey-like).
I'm only wondering why I've just found a closure for Lucy's story in audio files and not in the DLC-less single player experience...
Now, sure, the team had probably planned this a long time ago but it doesn't feel like the players are given more AC goodness, it feels like something important was simply cut away from the main game which has made it less interesting than the previous iterations.
Let's hope this ends up being a Subject 16 DLC as big as Da Vinci's Disappearance so that we finally get something new from Revelations before AC III comes out.
