GamerFitNation's BackBible talks about Ninja Theory's changing the new DMC story from Reboot, to Alternate Universe, and now Origin Story. He question's if Developers are trying to play on Gamer intelligence or are they simply trying to find their footing.
VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them
2.
Dmc.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best
Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
Former Hellblade director and Ninja Theory co-founder has offered an explanation regarding his departure from the now Microsoft-owned studio.
It is a good studio.. i really enjoyed their dmc game that i platinumed it.
I did not try hellblade, because it doesnt tell me much.. Enslaved was very mehhh
Heavenly Sword was good not great. Amazing graphics back in the day but so repetitive and not so engaging in the long run.
"Microsoft" we all read between the lines. We have seen the exact same thing happen with many of their other acquisitions
One thing that pleasantly surprised me, was the Switch port, as back then it was my only console. The graphics were amazing and the artistic design helped a lot to enhance the visuals.I took some really impressive screen shots while playing which I still revisit them from time to time to remind me what a capable developer (QLOC) can achieve with weaker hardware.
Huzaifah from eXputer: "Devil May Cry 5, the latest iteration in the iconic DMC franchise by Capcom, still holds its own as a fantastic hack-and-slash in 2024."
they don't even care about how many fans of the franchise feel towards the changes
lol...So true
It seems like NT don't even know what they want, it's like "Oh crap what we said last time isn't calming down fans, you know if this game does crap in sales were finished....better say something else"
I just hope to god that the people who feel the same will stick to their guns and not buy it and the people who are in two minds will just WAIT and HANG ON for it to go in the bargain bin.
dmc will do poorly in sales, NT will be ruined bascialy wishing that they just stuck to Heavenly Sword 2, Capcom will loose money and will make it so they will stop using western developers any more thus them getting a massive wake up call for next gen so they go back to their old ways what made them so great in the first place.
If we want Capcom to change, we have to. If we want a new DMC 5 game we have to make that happen and the only way we have doing that is by having control over the sales. That's why I hate the people who moan and then go "Well I have to give it a try" and buy it on day one....even if you still don't like it all your doing is giving NT and Capcom a happy sale.
Anyway I liked the video BlackBible, much better then HipHopGamer or any other gamer videos you find on N4G.....your videos just seem more down to earth if you know what I mean
Im totally with you on this.
DMC is one of my favourite franchises and I hate what NT are doing to it, not only have they lied to us and passed our concerns off as petty fanboy cries, but they seem content on continuing to do so.
As a new IP the game looks interesting, but as a DMC game it looks like a joke IMO.
Dino: Don't worry guys, in the future I dye my hair white, stop smoking and get a sense of humour... wait, what do you mean you don't care? Come back, COME BACK!
I'll be playing the HD collection first.
