Loud Mouthed Gamers: According to the most recent issue of Official Xbox Magazine, the Gears of War universe will continue to be developed, as if we didn’t know that already. However, what may surprise you is the Crystal Ball which is reporting that People Can Fly may be developing a prequel trilogy.
Epic Games is facing a $1.2 million fine by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets over "unfair practices" in the Fortnite shop.
It might be cheaper to simply pay the fine. Fighting said fine could cost millions due to court and lawyer fees. Fortnite generates well over a 100 million in each month, so Epic has plenty of cash.
But if they did pay it, then they are basically admitting that they did something they weren’t supposed to be doing. If they fight it, they may win and continue to have a sense of urgency for their micro transactions thus making more money long term.
Meaning more suits to follow from others if they don't fight as well.
Not a fan of Epic nor fortnite and their micro transactions. But the game is heavily supported and is free to play, all store items are completely cosmetic.
I'd fight back too. These are kinda meaningless reasons to fine someone like really for THAT. It's like they just wanted to make money or something.
There is a law for something, but even if its stupid follow it because if you break it you pay for it; if they knew they cant place a “buy now” in NL then just dont do it!
Outriders developer People Can Fly's next game has been canceled after its publishing agreement with Take-Two Interactive fell through.

If you're getting funding from a group that needs two different ways of Acronyming itself, things will not go the way you want them to.
Outriders was crap. They slapped that game together and threw in a loot system to get players' attention. This game was absolutely jank and the always online nonsense made it stutter like crazy. People Can't Optimize.
I liked Outriders but I could see where the artistic vision was compromised. The way the industry is now, it wouldn't surprise me that upper management would scrap something that didn't pull in money via gaas, mts, or other means.

I usualy hate prequels in games because you know how it all finishes and with the novels already telling us what happened at the start of the whole war we already know what to expect.
I think Epic should of gave us a cliffhanger at the end of Gears 3 similar to the legendary ending of Halo 3 and let Gears rest for a while. Like for example you see the Queens body being dragged off by locust which you think have survived only for them to take it back to a drop ship implying that the locust are a bigger threat then the COGs first thought.......I mean with a Queen there always has to be a King, silly example I know but it's just to get the point across.
I think a prequel is a good idea. But maybe just one prequel game would be good. A prequel trilogy might be a bit much.
It might not be a bad idea. Have People Can Fly make Gears of War Prequels and Epic making a new IP. I am all in for it.
how about just telling me who the hell the queen was, why she was human and how she ended up being the locust leader, you know answer some of the main questions of the actual first trilogy

I just want to know why the locust queen is human! That's pretty much the only unanswered question from the trilogy of games. If a prequel answers that im all for it.
