Blackman'N Robin - War of the Worlds Review

The War of the Worlds (2011, Other Ocean Interactive) carries on the tradition of older cinematic platformers such as Flashback and Another World. It pays homage to them in both style and difficulty- this game is gorgeous but it does not hold your hand. In fact, it’s something of an annoyance when you’re not sure exactly what’s killing you time and again, or how to fight off some horrible mechanical spider-creature, but in spite of this it’s rather rewarding when you figure something special out. For example, there’s an achievement that involves altruism and a gas mask- there’s pretty much no explanation as to how to actually get (give?) it, but I obtained it without trying.

This clearly can not be true as reviews say otherwise. Plus the many people that have only played the demo or only read the reviews agree with those reviews.

It is odd that no one talked about how the combat was lacking after the demo was available, not until today it is being said with confidence.

Thank goodness the game is only thirty dollars instead of sixty, so I will just have to get it for myself and judge.

From what I played of the demo they did do it correctly but I have yet to play the full game so I'll hold off on my opinions tell then.

Well, yeah... If it's free of course it's going to be downloaded a lot.

I'd like to know how many deleted after playing 1 match. Haven't used real tank controls since mechwarrior on ps1 though, that was different.(Used analog joystick)

Haha you raise a very good point. That being said, I doubt Lococycle hit 1 million downloads in a week.

Actually, it would be interesting to look at all the Games With Gold and PS+ free games to investigate the correlation between a game being free and how many downloads it gets.
