I wouldn't have though NFS game is an essential purchase, but whatever. All the other games I'd agree with. Metal Gear Solid HD obviously being the most essential of them all.

T9004575d ago

Yea i wouldnt agree with NFS either that franchise has been milked like no ones business and the quality keeps dropping with every release since they dont put much time or effort in it. I am personally regretting buying Hotpursuit and Shift 2, even though i got both of them on discount. Not gonna get another NFS game thats for sure.

Marquis_de_Sade4575d ago

Hot Pursuit is excellent, Criterion can do no wrong! I agree with you on Shift though.

Aloren4575d ago

I wouldn't say some MGS upscaled versions are essential when so many fantastic new games are coming out. I'll get it in a few months, when it's half the price. Same as I do with most HD classics.

SilentNegotiator4575d ago

Between the MGS collection, Skyrim, and Saints Row 3, I'll be set for months.

MostJadedGamer4574d ago

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the only game worth buying this month.

chriski3334574d ago

saints row and modern warfare

Skyrim running at 60fps 1080p will be bloody amazing. Though the 60usd price tag is quite high think i will pick it up for half that price in 2-3 months.

persistentlobster4575d ago

Dude it's a 200+ hour game on a single playthrough, are you being serious?

bunt-custardly4575d ago

Shame that the Metal Gear HD collection has delayed UK side 'til Feb 2012. Otherwise, sure, that would be a must-buy.

I'm quite surprised MW3 is not on the list, though the others are certainly titles of high interest. I'd personally have preferred EA to make Hot Pursuit 2, as opposed to The Run. HP was such a great and addictive game that deserves it's own sequel, which is something that can not be said for many games.

Chuk54575d ago (Edited 4575d ago )

Personally, I think Skyrim is all you need.

ironfist924575d ago (Edited 4575d ago )

Personal Preference.

Id rather get Assassin's Creed over the rest of those games.

MostJadedGamer4574d ago

Listen to Ironfist92 he speaks the truth.

guitarded774574d ago

Personally, I think you're wrong... but I like all types of games.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22939d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko39d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan39d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
