Publisher, Excalibur, is set to release a 'platinum edition' of its 2011 Farming Sim in October. Now, Farming Simulator 2011 is not Farmville. It's not even Harvest Moon. This is a hardcore sim game that tries to accurately recreate life on the farm.
Henry Osadzinski of Brash Games writes "Farming Simulator 2011 certainly won’t win any awards for its original setting, blistering action or heart-wrenching plot but that’s not the point. We’re here to farm and farm well".
Not that I care about the game in the slightest, but that is one of the better reviews I've read in ages, keep up the good work.

Publisher's range of simulation titles continue to perform strongly in PC sales charts.
When you think of a Top Ten PC game, the likes of StarCraft II, World of Warcraft, The Sims and Football Manager probably spring to mind. You certainly don’t think of Farming Simulator 2011.
But this quirky little niche game not only raced into sixth place in the PC Top Ten, it did it during what was a very busy November for new releases.
Even its publisher Excalibur was surprised by its success.
Midlife Gamer's Greg Giddens writes - "Farming equipment is expensive, and the catch is this: without it you can't utilise your land and crops to their fullest and your farm makes very little money. So after popping my first two cows – Zenzi and Pia – into my novelty sized supermarket trolley, I shot over to the machinery sale to spend the rest of my cash on new, more efficient, pieces of equipment. After kitting out my farm with some shiny new vehicles and accessories, I bought some more fuel, seeds, and hiring help to aid me in my monumental task of running this farm.
lol that actually looks interesting.
Well, I love farming in Minecraft...why not?! (Although I think it's because in Minecraft, there's an important purpose to it....your own survival. Probably not as fun.)
Really I'll prefer to work on a farm
Do you get lots of pointless subsidies from the government in order to prolong your pitiful rural existence?
I like farming in demons souls might check this out.
