Battlefield 3 on Xbox 360 looks 'really, really good'

Gamers should not be worried about the quality of the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3, DICE general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson has told VideoGamer.com following leaked footage of the game hitting YouTube.

"The problem is we don't want people to experience the game through a crappy YouTube video with a 320x200 resolution, or something like that," Troedsson told VideoGamer.com. "We want people to see this game in the great HD way that we want people to see it, of course."

"I'd follow that up by saying that they don't have to worry. The game is going to look really, really good on 360 as well, and we want to show them that now and up until launch."

Not that I am concerned but Youtube along with many other sites whether you did a preview show in HD.

There may be reasons while the 360 version isn't being shown yet. In the past, the previous games were always a notch better on the 360. This might be the case here. To try to increase sells on the PS3 (which have lagged compared to the 360); this may be their tactic.

No one really cares about the multi-disc issue. Small beans my friends. Ultimately graphics will tell the story. I can't wait to find out which one wins!

Personally I think the only reason is they are trying to get a fanbase on PS3 to hype their product.

Let's face it, if Dice is concerned about how their product is shown (i.e. low resolution videos on Youtube), perhaps they should show us something. The game is scheduled to release in October. That's like a month away!

In fact, they have barely showed any PS3 footage to boot. Practically everything is PC.

The greatness of BF3 I have not seen yet, all I have seen so far is PC being passed off as console footage.

I agree with that Gamingdroid about increasing the fanbase. Pretty much similar to why a company will offer incentives to buy the PS3 version for example Arkham City for Joker to increase sales projections.

EA was secretive about Crysis 2 on the Ps3 because it wasn't very good, and now they're being secretive with the 360 version of BF3. It's suspicious to say the least.

You know at this point every game should look next gen on the PC imagine if the built skyrim from PC on down and not port that from console I mean think about skyrim on DX11.

Skyrim isn't actually....It is not DX10/11 only like BF3 is on PC. Skyrim can use DX11 for efficiency/performance reasons (better framerate on weaker hardware) but they said they won't be taking advantage of the DX11 graphical features like tessellation or direct compute or any of that unfortunately :(

Wow, so many 360 fanbabaies in this thread! Strange that the army of ps3 fanboys has stayed away from this article for the most part.

I have this pre-ordered for 360, and I must admit I am a little concerned now that I read this article, because of the way Karl Magnuss-Troedson defends the videos by simply saying, "we don't want people to judge it based on the poor resolution of a youtube video." He never mentioned if it was pre-alpha or footage from an early build of the 360 version. And i thought the interior lighting in the scene where the Marines are storming the building is just awful, but i figured it was pre-alpha so i didn't worry when I originally saw the vids on youtube.

I've said for a while now that I bet that Microsoft and Activision have some exclusive promotions/marketing contract that prevents MS from marketing or promoting other military FPS games other than CoD. To date, I've seen ONE video on the XBL dashboard for BF3...it was right around the time of E3 and it was a 10 min extended campaign gameplay trailer featuring Faultline and Op Metro levels... and was only available for a day or two as a part of a whole bunch of E3 videos. Xbox is pushing MW3 on us 24/7 with a slew of new videos and sale items from the marketplace pertaining to MW3 almost daily.

I bought this for Xbox because I think XBL provides a better online experience than PSN, but if it really looks like garbage on 360, i'll happily switch my preorder. Alal in all, I'd really like to see some HD footage of the 360 version.

A little worried, but not terribly worried. I think Bad Co 2 looked great on the xbox, even though people disagree with me. I know DICE is using their newest engine on BF3 and thus, it should outshine BC2 graphically. Just the fact that KMT just kind of beat around the bush in this article made me worry a little...

Can't believe people are still speculating on why they only show the PS videos when it comes to console footage. Simple, Sony has a deal with EA for the exclusive content of a free copy battlefield 1943 therefor Sony's machine is the lead platform. Just like Activision and Microsoft's machine.

Other than that I wasn't the least bit worried about the Xbox version I know the Xbox version will look like the PlayStation version. And if you disagree then I guess prove me wrong.

i would say your right, also dice said they are using the cell processor more this time and are using it for lighting and mlaa. i like mlaa as a whole and it works beautifully in games like GOW3, KZ3.
