MediaKick Review: White Knight Chronicles Enhanced Edition

MediaKick: "When White Knight Chronicles was first released in Europe last year it had its problems – highlighted when it was slated critically. Now, packed in for the charming price of free with White Knight Chronicles 2, whilst sporting all the improvements made for the second game, it’s as good a time as ever to dive into one of the most charming and interesting JRPG’s released this generation. By all means it’s certainly not perfect, however, where it counts it is great fun."

Yeah, one of the reasons why I didn't import. Plus, I didn't wanna lose my character I put soooo many hours into in WKC1 >.<

I can't believe this. A review that doesn't knock on WKC2 for not having a tutorial.. and review the complete package Level-5 bothered to re-master for us.

Also:

"You have to be reasonably close to an enemy to execute an attack, even if the attack still won’t physically reach them, which wouldn’t be so much of a problem except enemies can hit you from a mile away."

Actually, they enemies do have to be close to you to start their attack, but once they start their attack, no matter how far you are... you will get hit.
It works the same way for us too. We just need to be close to start the attack.

For example: I cast Dragonfire (ala Firaga) and the enemy is within range. While I'm casting, if the enemy runs faaar away. It will still hit the enemy. Like wise, once they AI 'locks in' their attack, you are screwed. :D

Xenoblade X felt like Avatar as a game visually. The art in that series is amazing.

Memorable Music in Gaming #21

Chalgyr's Game Room writes:

I am kicking things off by going back to a familiar well here - with a song from the Neverwinter Nights soundtrack. This is still arguably one of my favorite music scores in a video game ever, but I decided to lead off with it and then create something of a theme as I decided to pull all of this edition's songs from RPG games.

Neverwinter Nights (PC) - Battle - Forest Boss

I touched on the somewhat mystical quality of another Neverwinter Nights song last week when discussing City Docks Day. There were a lot of really good battle tunes in this one, but the Forest Boss song always stood out in my mind. The battle itself was not even the most memorable one, but right around the one minute mark, it reaches an epic level that just stuck with me.
