Another year comes by in the world of Formula One. It used to be that people moaned about it, laughed about it, got excited about it and left it alone until the cycle started again, but all that changed last year when Codemasters released their impressive first go at the Formula One franchise with F1 2010. That’s not just me talking as a fan. It won a BAFTA as the best sports game for the year and the competition (as ever) was tough. And here we are, before we’ve fully grasped the games complex yet rewarding style, F1 2011 has dawned on the horizon.

F1 Developer Codemasters Suffers Round of Layoffs

IGN writes: "Veteran UK developer Codemasters has suffered a round of layoffs following the launch of racing games F1 23 and EA Sports WRC.

Codemasters owner EA confirmed the redundancies in a statement issued to IGN, although failed to disclose the number of staff affected."
