Resident Evil: Capcom Takes Big Risk With Resident Evil Revamp

Is Capcom’s new direction worthy of the loyal fans Resident Evil has earned over the years. After playing the game it’s definitely a different experience than the RE games of old.

What frightens me even more is that they're trying to make it like Socom: CONFRONTATION.

I've played it. It doesn't feel anything like SOCOM Confrontation. I can tell you right now because I f**** hated Confrontation with a passion. It was clunky, buggy and a complete piece of shit. This may not be a traditional RE game, but from what I played it was pretty fun.

RE1 will forever be one of the greatest survival horrors of all time and will probably never be touched, unfortunately.

Why do some developers just not get it. They revolutionised with 4. 5 was good but co-op breaks tension and then this. It is on a depressing downward slide. Capcom needs to take a step back and take stock. They might benefit from looking at Deadspace.

Capcom has already said that Resident Evil 6 will be different from 5. I think they realize that they messed up the feeling of horror in 5.

RE 6 will be like RE 4. A brand new way to play RE. RE 5 was aimed to be co-op all the way through. If they axed co-op in that game it wouldn't be so bad.

This game is nothing like Socom. Your dropped into a city with tons of zombies, hunters, US Marines etc. Your constantly under attack. It's fast, crazy, and a whole hell of a lot of fun. Think of it as a pumped up Merc mode with objectives. This guy probably didn't get hands on, he just saw a video on youtube ane read a few articles online...Jackass!

The whole Resident Evil franchise was about being in a almost hopeless situation with little ammo for good weapons and alone.

How does a Mercenary story contribute to the Resident Evil Franchise?

I gave up after RE5 when they Killed the main dude in the entire franchise.

RE0 is my favorite though....THAT coop was pretty well done compared to RE5.

I'm skipping this and IF the new Silent Hill bombs then the horror genre has lost two heavyweights.

Outbreak File #2 was the last one that was actually survival-horror. Sure, RE4 was a good game, but was it really survival horror? Nope. And RE5...lol. Also a decent game, but still not survival horror.

And then they just go ahead and turn into into Socom: Confrontation with new skins. GTFO of here.

resident evil 4 it is and was survival horror, not because it does not had zombieas that doesent mean is not resident evil or survival horror game, remmeber my mate that resident evil its all about a virus and a company trying to make bioweapons. so the ganados fit perfectly, besides at the end of the game is shown (kinda) their story, i mean they as people, the monsters had great design it was fun as hell and why not scary and leon had a strong personality and the game had a good story and pace, at least for me, and the wolves were super scary!!.
resident evil 5 on the other hand lack all the good stuff of re4, it had a max steel wannabe protagonist, the story and creatures were kinda bad the uroborus feels like the team was lazy designing monsters, and for example in re4 you encounter with european like creatures or at least the fit well, in re5 instead you get a no-nonsense show!, were are the lions and that sort of stuff? i think they missed the african good stuff.
and the script was "partner this partner there, sheva asks about jill and chris only says: we were partners. seriously wtf!!??. and the jill side was a disapoint too, ive expected much more!! and checkpoints?? lol

The only reason I said RE5 was decent is because of the co-op. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't have even bothered playing the game.

I think RE4 would've been better if they would've stuck with the alpha version of the game (go check it out on youtube if you haven't seen it yet). I didn't care that the zombies got replaced with the ganados, just that it was still more action-adventure than real horror. The constant escort missions also weren't welcome.

And RE5's entire plot was about your PARTNAH. HEY PARTNAH, OVER THERE! PARTNAH, TAKE THIS ASSAULT RIFLE! PARTNAH, LET'S BLOW UP WESKER WITH AN RPG PARTNAH!
