Dungeon Siege III Video Review – Will this be a Diablo III contender?

The demo was enough for me to avoid this. It was a shame too because I was really hoping it would kill the time between Torchlight 2 and then on to Diablo 3.

But there is NO WAY this game is going to hold a candle to what I have watched of Diablo 3 gameplay. NO CHANCE.

DS3 is a good game but it is very narrow in what you can do, Diablo 1 even is better than this game as it lets you explore a lot more but then we have Diablo 2 which is far bigger. DS3 might be a good game but it has no replay value and it isn't diverse at all.

Diablo 3 will be the best game of that type that and Skyrim.

Why play Dungeon Siege 3 with Torchlight 2 soon enough then Diablo 3? Those are true loot RPG's. Also Obsidian ruined another franchise for me >_>

Because ds3 is a good, fun game. I really love it. Its probably the best hack n slash rpg for me on consoles, that or deathspank. It has great graphics, abilities, art, enemies, and good loot. It reminds me of fable 1 a bit, thats def a good thing. Yea diablo 3 might be better but that doesnt mean this isnt great plus people like me who love this kind of game dont get too many to chose from. Obsidian is really underrated.

I always thought Dungeon Siege was a Neverwinter Nights competitor not a Diablo.

I read about the classes of DS3 and was thinking, they need way more than that. Then I thought, in this day and time, why can’t we generate our own characters. In the past for DS1 and 2 you could. In Diablo you couldn’t but why not?

Maybe in the past when they were the same type of game, but with Dungeon Siege 3 they changed the game on a major level making it no longer the same type. Diablo started it all in the eye of the gaming masses and it will continue being the best.

That still remains to be seen. No-monthly-fee-isometric-World -of-Warcraft may turn out to be a piece of crap, like every Blizzard game released in the last decade. I have my fingers crossed that it wont be as big of a disappointment as WoW or StarCraft 2 but I'm not expecting much.

The game is far too different from Diablo, or even the old Dungeon Siege games. It's not a bad game by any means, and people basing their opinions of a game on other peoples' opinions (review scores) of crappy console versions of a PC game are, and always will be, idiots.

That being said, the game is extremely linear and story driven. You can't go back and revisit old locations, you can't use "waypoints", there are no open fields or randomly generated dungeons and your conversation decisions have an impact on what happens in this game. Honestly, this is more like a Dragon Age game than anything, and better than one, too.

It's definitely worth a play if people can get their ignorant heads out of reviewers' asses and actually try playing the game for themselves (on PC...with a controller).

I liked DS 1 and 2...but this...i don't even want to call this a dungeon crawler...i was excited about the game but when i tried demo,uuuugh,looking forward to Diablo 3.
