Following on from David Reids dig at WoW earlier this month, Rift developer Will Cook has joined in the fun, seemingly not wanted to feel left out.
Cook poked fun at World of Warcraft’s “fading” fan-base, blaming the fact that the game is not “different enough” from when it was originally launched.
Blizzard Entertainment has announced the opening of beta registrations for “World of Warcraft: The War Within,” inviting players to explore new subterranean worlds beneath Azeroth.
Danish from eXputer: "Despite Blizzard's attempt to give a fresh new spin to World of Warcraft, some fans still seem to be stuck in the past."
HG writes: "Blizzard is usually pretty bad at keeping secrets, but the company somehow managed to keep this one under wraps until now. Plunderstorm is a special limited-time event that’s basically World of Warcraft’s take on the Battle Royale genre."
Your talking about 6-7 year MMORPG of course its going to fade. Like the Roman Empire it can only last for so long before it falls.
(Question)
Also taking about 600k wow and converting them to rift players can't really count as fading, can it?
Enjoy your time, WoW...Guild Wars 2 is coming, and it's a beast.
All in good jest. :P
I love how people act like WoW will lost all the fanbase in a couple of years.
I've eard this for a few times now, but guess what? WOW is still live and kicking!
It's simply one of the best overall MMORPG experiences out there. It's not because it's awesome here or there, it's because of the game in the "big picture". It's simply a well put combination of gameplay and mechanics, so comfy that I always feel awkard when trying another MMORPG.
WoW was fun while I played. I just started League of Legends and enjoy it. I'd try Rift but dont feel like going through the $15/month thing again.
