Blu-ray Advertising for PS3 to be 'Much More Aggressive' this Holiday

Victor Matsuda, VP of Sony's Blu-ray Disc Group, tells GameDaily BIZ that the PS3 has played a key role in the format's momentum and this holiday will be huge.

Well with no EXCLUSVIE MUST HAVE GAMES to really play(Ratchet is a good game but is not a must have game, unless you already own a PS3 of course )the only thing to brag about the PS3 is how its a cheap blu ray player!

edit- I know how you Sony Fanboys feel. I actually feel sorry for you guys. After what Sony was saying and the promises they made before the PS3 launch it was easy to justify spending $600 on a console. A year later that $600 console is now worth $400 and have now realized you were duped into buying a next gen DVD player instead! So now you have built up a shield and are not accepting the truth. I seriously hope one day you actually take your fanboy hat, scarf, spagetti strap, hip huggers and pumps off and really sit down infront of a PS3. It will be huge... for HD DVD with their $98, $170, and $198 HD DVD layers with 5 free movies, and movies costing $15 each. Goodbye Blu-Ray. Nice knowing you.

If the HD-DVD player isn't a piece of crap, which at that price it surely must be, then I'll buy it in a heart beat. Now I can watch all those great Bluray movies on my PS3 and still be able to watch Transformer on my cheap HDDVD player. Thats a lot cheaper than buying one of those LG dual format player for a grand.

one hardware is being given away at the price of the free included movies and having no competing hardware to bring the price down.almost bargain bin(HD-DVD)

the other is a hardware that doesn't equal the price of the free movies given away,has competing manufactures making stand alones to compete,and price was brought down when either parts were removed or mass production called for it.(ps3/bluray)

sony didn't drop the price which made consumers upset.but consistantly outsold its competitor on software since launch of bluray.and the bottom line is movie sales.or bluray (discs in general-game/movie/burnable) sales.

This must be Sony’s big PS3 holiday push the fanboys have been talking about, hehehe. Leave it to Sony to push there movie format on PS3, rather than there games. I guess it’s expected though; hell you have to shine the light somewhere when you don’t have any system selling games to focus on! Nobody will specifically BUY a PS3 for Ratchet & Clank, Unreal or Uncharted, good or not. Hey though, there is always 2008 as you PS3 folks like to keep mentioning!

I would not buy a HD-DVD player for 100.00 dollars unless I know it's for sure that it is true 1080p. WTH are they selling their HD-DVD players at the same price as the DVD-players, it took lots of years before they came down and HD-DVD came down in price in a matter of an year. Does anyone see failure when it smacks them in the face. Most people buying these players these holiday season don't even own and HD TV haha. Anyways Playstation 2 was the first DVD player I own back in the day and now it's the first Blu-Ray player I own. History repeating itself.
