LulzSec Puts More Than 62,000 Email/Password Combinations Up For Download

As you may have noticed – LulzSec has been very busy this week. After Titanic Takeover Tuesday, where they attacked EVE Online, League of Legends Online and Minecraft, among others, they have now released a colossal number of email/password combinations for their followers. Yes, more than 62,000, some of which have been used to hack World of Warcraft and Runescape accounts. Where will LulzSec go next and is your information safe?

edit: Looks like mine wasn't :D Considering how many accounts these sites have, this is less than 1% of accounts.

1. It's believed they don't live in North America, so that already makes it hard for action to be taken.
2. Anyone with this kind of hacking skill isn't connecting directly to the internet like an idiot script kiddy. They are likely using hacked hosts as proxies and various other means to cover their tracks.

I can only hope at some point this sh!t comes to an end. It's just wrong...just because you can do something (like steal data because the security isn't airtight) doesn't mean you should. This kind of action makes me sick to my stomach.

Agreed.... Ya know, I really wish there was a badass hacker (or group of hackers) out there who decided to make taking down these criminal hackers their cause. Good hackers vs Douche bag hackers. I'd love to see these guys get beaten at their own game. There's gotta be at least one skilled hacker out there that is as disgusted by these criminals as the rest of us. Perhaps this could be their calling card:
