LulzSec Puts More Than 62,000 Email/Password Combinations Up For Download

As you may have noticed – LulzSec has been very busy this week. After Titanic Takeover Tuesday, where they attacked EVE Online, League of Legends Online and Minecraft, among others, they have now released a colossal number of email/password combinations for their followers. Yes, more than 62,000, some of which have been used to hack World of Warcraft and Runescape accounts. Where will LulzSec go next and is your information safe?

Isn't this just promoting other people to download this file and give this article hits it doesn't deserve? Approve this why now?

buckley4724d ago

It doesn't link to the leaked info. The article discusses how LulzSec's moves have progressed from annoying to serious, it does not glorify them.

MrChrisNo14724d ago

As if it could just be a news article. You clearly didn't read it.

saladthieves4724d ago

This is getting out of hand. Clearly LulzSec members have no life.

Kakkoii4724d ago (Edited 4724d ago )

This is handy for some people though. I have accounts on many of those sites, so I want to see if any of my passwords were leaked, because if they are then I'd want to change any account I used that pass on..

edit: Looks like mine wasn't :D Considering how many accounts these sites have, this is less than 1% of accounts.

Saladfax4723d ago

They seem to be Blackhats masquerading as Grey. Their mischief and random douche-baggery seems to be a side-project to the usual piles of extortion and greed.

It's kind of amusing how they're managing twitter, phone-calls, prancing on IRC, hosting a site and attacking random sites and no real action has happened against them.

Where's the cyber police at?

branchedout4724d ago

In their defense, burritos are delicious.

Ducky4724d ago

^ ... but not as delicious as Justice.

thesummerofgeorge4724d ago

Shit, I could really go for a justice burrito right now.

rezzah4724d ago

Read today in the papers they attacked the CIA, however they never stole anything. Only broke. And the CIA replied with "we are looking into it".

Kakkoii4724d ago (Edited 4724d ago )

Well:
1. It's believed they don't live in North America, so that already makes it hard for action to be taken.
2. Anyone with this kind of hacking skill isn't connecting directly to the internet like an idiot script kiddy. They are likely using hacked hosts as proxies and various other means to cover their tracks.

Redlogic4724d ago

I can only hope at some point this sh!t comes to an end. It's just wrong...just because you can do something (like steal data because the security isn't airtight) doesn't mean you should. This kind of action makes me sick to my stomach.

thesummerofgeorge4724d ago (Edited 4724d ago )

Agreed.... Ya know, I really wish there was a badass hacker (or group of hackers) out there who decided to make taking down these criminal hackers their cause. Good hackers vs Douche bag hackers. I'd love to see these guys get beaten at their own game. There's gotta be at least one skilled hacker out there that is as disgusted by these criminals as the rest of us. Perhaps this could be their calling card:

chak_4724d ago

that bunch of bastards !

I hope mine isn't in, but who knows. What is their point?? !

Ducky4724d ago (Edited 4724d ago )

Their point is lulz.

@Croash
It's hilarious for them... and I suppose for the people following them on twitter as well.
They're essentially trolls.

Only thing positive I'm seeing from them is that they're exposing how feeble internet security is.

Also, their twitter had this video. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Summarizes things quite well.

BlueTemplar4724d ago

No, their point is to be cuntz.

Croash4724d ago (Edited 4724d ago )

Well clearly they have missed it as this isn't hilarious at all.

Why the hell would anyone do that anyway. It's not even because they think they're anonymous and powerful on the internet, those who do this clearly have a problem with life itself.
Their everyday life mustn't be that joyful, neither for them or for their potential neighbors/friends.
