Seeing as how tomorrow, May 21st, is supposed to be the Rapture and all the supposed "believers" are going to mysteriously disappear and make their way to heaven, many people are wondering "what about those that get left behind? Well, back in 2006, a rather controversial PC game was released that addressed the issue of those not included in the rapture. That game was aptly titled Left Behind.
Christian video and computer games may soon be appearing on Walmart shelves.
Hurray?
The only religious game I'd play is God of War or Assassin's Creed. These Christian games try too hard to educate, though I'd love to see some bad ass game based around the religion instead (like Assassin's Creed).
The two comments above me are golden.
Bubbles!
Although, I wouldn't mind a game that was set during the days of the Crusades...that would be pretty intense to play as a Crusader in the King's guard or something.
The fact that the Left Behind series is considered to be "Christian" is one of the biggest reasons I totally understand people hating religion.
For some reason I don't remember reading about Jesus slaughtering "non-believers" in any actual Christian texts.
From Gamertell:
"Digital Praise, the company responsible for the music games Dance Praise and Guitar Praise , has announced a planned merger with Left Behind Games Inc, most well-known for games based on the Left Behind best-selling series of books."
I'm glad they are hemorrhaging money, religion has no place in video games... just like in schools.
I couldn't help but think of a GTA in Jesus form. xD
That sounds so fun.
Especially with a karma system.
Anyway >_>
I think it'd be tight to have some Christian games, wouldn't bother me.
Moar gamez!
In an article that tried to play to the fears of the general public, The Bulletin's Susan Brinkmann pointed to how some (read: "one") feel that video games are developing an anti-religion message.
Rather than try to discredit Brinkmann like some others have, Binge Gamer Dot Net's James Walker takes her to task and briefly examines religion in games before slamming the gaaming industry for being overly apologetic whenever a group gets offended by a particular game.
I'll see everyone on the 22nd ;)
I'm going to wear my shittiest clothes tomorrow.
It says in the bible that no man will know when the end is coming.
On May 21st all the NEO-CONS will disappear? hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray. Let's throw a global party and celebrate!
We should all sing while we wait. I will start it off
"Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...always look on the bright side of life..."
