BTW BD is outselling HD DVD 4:1 in NA at the moment. Transformers had no impact on HD DVD sales . whereas BD has taken the lead further to 4:1.

I feel that it is my duty to educate the public on a range of issues. To get right down to it, the key to Mr. Nasim's soul is his longing for the effortless, irresponsible, automatic consciousness of an animal. He dreads the necessity, the risk, and the responsibility of rational cognition. As a result, I do not have the time, in one sitting, to go into the long answer as to why Nasim justifies his thievery by saying things like, "It's for the good of society". But the short answer is that there's an important difference between me and Nasim. Namely, I am willing to die for my cause. Nasim, in contrast, is willing to kill for his -- or, if not to kill, at least to sue people at random. Most people don't realize this, but Nasim has, in fact, presented evidence in support of his claim that it's okay if his obiter dicta initially cause our quality of life to degrade because "sometime", "someone" will do "something" "somehow" to counteract that trend. Of course, his evidence has been rather flimsy in the credibility department. It's generally a lot easier to find evidence that Nasim claims to be supportive of my plan to advocate social change through dialogue, passive resistance, and nonviolence. Don't trust him, though; he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Before you know it, he'll hand over the country to the worst sorts of caustic rotters there are. Not only that, but if you read between the lines of Nasim's expositions, you'll definitely find that Nasim likes homilies that rule with an iron fist. Could there be a conflict of interest there? If you were to ask me, I'd say that he operates on an international scale to promote a form of government in which religious freedom, racial equality, and individual liberty are severely at risk. It's only fitting, therefore, that we, too, work on an international scale, but to answer the blockish, pernicious lunkheads who quash other people's opinions. Nevertheless, Nasim's arguments would be a lot more effective if they were at least accurate or intelligent, not just a load of bull for the sake of being controversial. Nasim's maudlin preoccupation with escapism, usually sicklied over with such nonsense words as "teleoroentgenography&quo t;, would make sense if a person's honor were determined strictly by his or her ability to judge people by the color of their skin while ignoring the content of their character. As that's not the case, we can conclude only that given the amount of misinformation that Nasim is circulating, I must indubitably point out that he is driving me nuts. I can't take it anymore!

If Nasim thinks his cajoleries represent progress, he should rethink his definition of progress. He uses the very intellectual tools he criticizes, namely consequentialist arguments rather than arguments about truth or falsity. Thanks to Nasim, the epidemic of philistinism is spreading rapidly. Although others may disagree with that claim, few would dispute that you may have noticed that Nasim's brethren like having a stamp of assurance from Nasim that what they're doing is fashionable, or at least acceptable. But you don't know the half of it. For starters, mankind needs to do more to put inexorable pressure on Nasim to be a bit more careful about what he says and does. Understand, I am not condemning mankind for not doing enough; I am merely stating that Nasim contends that censorship could benefit us and that, therefore, he can convince criminals to fill out an application form before committing a crime. This bizarre pattern of thinking leads to strange conclusions. For example, it convinces pigheaded perjurers (as distinct from the ostentatious mob bosses who prefer to chirrup while hopping from cloud to cloud in Nephelococcygia) that Nasim has his moral compass in tact. In reality, contrariwise, Nasim has been trying for some time to sell the public on a parasitism-based government. His sales pitch proceeds both pragmatically and emotionally. The pragmatic argument: The best way to reduce cognitive dissonance and restore homeostasis to one's psyche is to expose and neutralize Nasim's enemies rather than sit at the same table and negotiate. The emotional argument: Divine ichor flows through his veins. As you can see, neither argument is valid, which should indicate to you that it scares the bejeezus out of me to know that Nasim might promote racial superiority doctrines, ethnic persecution, imperialist expansion, and genocide sooner than you think. And here, I contend, lies a clue to the intellectual vacuum so gapingly apparent in his contrivances.

It requires surprisingly little imagination to envision a future in which Nasim is free to instill a subconscious feeling of guilt in those of us who disagree with his hijinks. (Actually, he has overstated his case against me by alluding to an illusory past but that's not important now.) He says it is within his legal right to turn the social order upside-down so that the dregs on the bottom become the scum on the top. Whether or not he indeed has such a right, prudence is no vice. Cowardice -- especially Nasim's jaded form of it -- is. Okay, this letter has become much too long so I'll just jump right to the punchline: I speak from experience

Panthers6060d ago

wow... just wow. You put too much effort into that dude, especially for a fanboy like him.

spammy_nooo6060d ago

I'm not even going to finish reading that wall of letters you've got going on there, bukkakalypse. Instead, I'll just assume that you have a grudge against nasim(don't we all) and, in conjunction with that, no life at all.

p.s. do you go into MS word and use the synonym finder? Those aren't words you usually have in your everyday insult/hate-filled paragraph.

squallsoft6060d ago

FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

gtgcoolkid6060d ago

They are already in Japan 10:1 and 6:1 in EU/PAL. Why is this being dragged out in NA I don't understand?

By the way anyone know how Transformers HD is doing since it is their biggest title recently? I know Blu-Ray countered by doing that buy one get one free deals everywhere but I still want to know how Transformers did.

Master X 246060d ago

Ok first off. Spielberg didnt direct BTTF so that could still happen.
Also the site is called blu ray.com wtf.
HD DVD is selling alot more standalone players the blu ray also. PS3 might be helping blu ray now but hometheater lovers dont wont a gaming console, the want a true player.
Once HD players drop under MSRp of 199 that will be a huge push.
With Paramount and Dreamworks siding with HD DVD that helps also.
It was Unverisal against the BDA but now everything is looking better for HD DVD.

WoodyWood096060d ago

NPD tells the story HD_DVD is just spinning it's wheels buddy it is just a matter of time before it goes under!!!!

xplosneer6060d ago

A REAL Blu ray player?...The PS3 was rated the highest in the initial quality as a player alone. You can buy it with a remote, and it's included in some bundles. It's most likely capable of Profile 2.0 at a third of the price of the new players. What?

athlon7706060d ago (Edited 6060d ago )

You are not only blind to the fact just because this comes from a BD site does not automaticaly mean it is made from smoke, but also that any of the current players under the $250.00 price tag that you are so proud to bring to the table will not support 1080p. So any consumer that is looking to get into high def, which will be the format of choice by the year 2009, is presented with a challenge as all TV's and broadcasts will be in HD. Now before you get your panties in a twist, yes I am full aware that HD includs 720P which these cheap HD-DVD players will handle, but look at the mainstream TV's being sold today and they will display 1080p as a standard. But I will not waist anymore of my time with this person as many of the HD-DVD followers will deny any evidence which casts a pale shadow upon their choice.

I wonder what place made this study, and it's Fandom, no wonder half of the people said that, I find it hilarious that Fandom of all places did manage to pull more than 50% for the argument of playing games for self expression

phoenixwing18h ago

Honestly i don't believe this statistic. All we need is an executive to believe it and they'll focus more on how to "express" ourselves over good gameplay and further ruin gaming.

FinalFantasyFanatic17h ago

I actually just play to relax/have fun, get immersed in another world for a while and enjoy the story/characters, who the hell plays to "express themselves"? I can understand how that applies to say Minecraft, where you're actually making things, but I don't think you can apply this to most games.

gold_drake1h ago

express themselves? eh... how so? that doesnt make sense to me at all.

Because the gaming industry is obsessed with live service games.

Rynxie2d ago

Because he touches himself at night to characters like lady Dimitrescu.

Crows902d ago

You're the one still thinking about her

Rynxie2d ago

@crow

Did I give away your secret? It's okay, if you sit on your hand and numb it, you can pretend it's her playing with your little stick.

MaximusPrime_3d ago

Good for me, I have no interests in horror games

-Foxtrot2d ago

Even when they do it's first person trying to copy Outlast, Five Nights, P.T etc

I think the Dead Space / RE2 / RE4 Remake and the Evil Within 2 showed you can have a good story based, third person survival horror game.

jeromeface2d ago

remakes is another good reason

thesoftware7302d ago

Calisto Protocol was also fun with fantastic presentation.

FinalFantasyFanatic2d ago

I feel like we haven't had much in the way of horror games for years, I think it became rare after the PS2/PS3 gen. Maybe i'll pick up that Crow Country that recently came out, that looks good.

Venoxn4g2d ago

Crow Country needs some more love.. and more exposure

Redemption-642d ago

Because outside of a fee games, most don't sell that well

Crows902d ago

So in other words...AAA publishers don't have creativity or passion for games.

CrimsonWing692d ago

Didn’t we have Dead Space Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake last year?

thorstein2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Among others

And isn't Dying Light 2 a horror game?

Scissorman2d ago

And Alan Wake 2 and Alone in the Dark.

on_line_forever1d 22h ago

I like Alone in the dark but it's not AAA game

richardmmorales2d ago

We also had The Quarry and The Dark Pictures The Devil In Me.

it is, i might be finally able to play Snowboard kids 1 full screen ha.

purple1013d ago

il beat you to the ski-lift,

framerate on snowboard kids was shocking, do you remember./?

talking of shocking framerate and kart racers style games,
Sony had a gem on ps3, with 'Modnation Racers' but again, framerate was so terrible, still fun though, indeed, when is drifting sideways not fun, the answer is never. we have not seen enough of that game, technically some people made race tracks/games in dreams and little big planet etc, but its just not the same,!!! grrrrr

morning rant over.

here, relive some ,memories. https://www.youtube.com/wat...

itBourne3d ago

The load time on ModNation where also excruciatingly long... But man oh man I wish that game took off more, so much fun! Could turn off garbage rubber banding, I had karts with 100's of stickers to design some crazy cool stuff, custom tracks. Fantastic undeappreciated game

gold_drake3d ago

SK1 had a fairly good framerate. sk2 maybe not so much ha

Redgrave3d ago

Some food for thought:

Would you donate your physical copy of a really rare/expensive cartridge (Conkers's BFD, Bomberman 64 Second Attack, Ogre Battle 64, the two Castlevania titles, etc) to those managing this project for the greater good of getting them preserved online for all to experience at some point?

UltimateOwnage3d ago

As long as it meant they never took money from Patreon and invited a DMCA takedown / lawsuit by Nintendo to take it all away. After seeing the whole debacle with Yuzu I now question how long any of these teams can maintain game preservation efforts through emulator development, or otherwise.

franwex3d ago

I mean. They may borrow them…

Profchaos3d ago

Is it realistically needed though I would not personally give anyone my old carts for games that are already persevered and easily available online

Inverno3d ago

The snippet of ray tracing at the end of the og trailer was low-key amazing. I found out thanks to Nerrel who also made a texture pack for MM, and i can't wait to see how much more great this game will be in the near future. With model swaps, ray tracing, retextures, and a more quicker process than decompilation, it's gonna bring new life to N64 games.

Profchaos3d ago

There might need to be a bit of clarification recompilation is not the same as decompilation.

This is basically a container to excite the rom within but allows for all sorts of beat additions and tricks like new lighting effects such as ray tracing to be added.

But decompilation would ultimately be king as it allows for a widespread porting capabilities and uses the assets from games to build a native install for PC or whatever the target system is e.g Mario 64 for PC or sonic mania for psvita / wii
