Game Guys review: Rio

In the spirit of most modern party games comes THQ's Rio. The game is a tie-in to the animated motion picture of the same name, though it doesn't really take full advantage of it outside of its visuals. Younger players, though, should find enjoyment in enough of the title's mini-games and parents should enjoy its $30 price tag, which is roughly half the price of your standard new Xbox 360 game.

Birds of a feather party together

Rio from the makers of Ice Age is a movie tie-in party game from the same name which includes over forty mini-games using six playable characters, Blu, Jewel, Pedro, Nico, Raphael, and Eva in a brightly coloured action packed Carnival theme. Although also on PlayStation 3 and Wii, the Xbox 360 version has three additional exclusive mini-games.

In-depth Review: Rio - Electronic Theatre

Given the game’s reliance on competition, it’s a great shame that Rio doesn’t include any online gameplay. Though it offers drop-in gameplay for up to four players on a single system, the only use of the PlayStation Network Rio makes is that of the now essential Trophies.
