Xbox 360 Exclusives That Were Outrageously Disappointing

GamingUnion.net:

"Over the past few weeks we've taken stock of the console exclusive arms race as it currently stands. Last week, we saw the best exclusive offerings that Microsoft's Xbox 360 has to offer, and will now move onto the titles that failed to reach those high standards and expectations.

These games are not necessarily "bad". They represent developer ambitions and/or fan expectations that were never quite met, hence the disappointments. What follows is our list of the most disappointing Xbox 360 exclusives titles - limited to full retail offerings, one entry per franchise, and listed in alphabetical order.

Some of these titles can also be found on PC, but will be placed in Microsoft's camp as we examine console offerings, as they were marketed as such."

Crackdown 2 sucked yes, But honestly Too Human is the most deserving title on there, that was easily the worst game I have played this gen. The mythology gave the game a brilliant background to build on, and we got nothing at all

AAACE54754d ago

Ninja Gaiden 2 should not be on that list!

The other games... F*ck em!

vishant1014753d ago

the reasons why these games actually were bad:

PDZ: the prequel to the game that made rare look like it was the best devs at the time. couldn't live up to the hype that was.

Crackdown 2: nine months to make a game is not long enough porting the map of no.1 and making touching it up wasnt good enough

too human: the third most expensive game of all time made on two different game engines couldn't live up to its hype

TheDivine4753d ago

Too human is the best dungean crawler this gen, i love that game and hope we see the trilogy finished. Crackdown 2 was great but peopl hated it because it was more of the same. Still really fun. Odst was the first halo campain i played through and i loved it. Great story and the atmoshere and music rocked, i liked the visor thingy too made it different. Odst took me longer to beat than homefront and kz3 so the length was fine.

I was also bitten by Crackdown 2, such a dismally disappointing game. Which is a shame because Crackdown 1 was absolutely amazing. The first time my character slammed a car, I was literally rolling on the floor with delight.

SlipperyMooseCakes4754d ago

This list is pretty accurate. Crackdown was such a let down. The first was so good :(

I hope they make a 3rd, put a new studio on it and a new city. Do it right this time, not half ass it.

WharenPeace4753d ago

They could have added Fable 3 on there as well. It's odd because I vowed after Fable 2 that I would never by another and Peter fooled me again.

aviator1894754d ago

Too bad about crackdown 2. I wish the old developers could come back and make the third one.

Elven64754d ago

Most of the original team is at Ruffian, they broke off and formed their own studio after there was no chance of Realtime Worlds doing a sequel to Crackdown 2.

Urmomlol4754d ago

There was nothing wrong with Shadowrun except for idiots who didn't know how to play it.

scrubgamer4748d ago

You are an idiot. Urmomlol, do us all a favor and leave n4g.

undercovrr4754d ago

If you never played the original crackdown, then crackdown 2 is really fun. However, if you did (like myself), it is almost exactly the same

ShadowRun - An Xbox 360 Classic Left to Rot

ShadowRun arrived in 2007 and is still played by a core audience on modern consoles and PC today, despite a bungled launch.

coolbeans120d ago

Played it a few months back. Not a stellar mp game at its time, but still genuine & janky fun.

Sciurus_vulgaris120d ago

I have never played Shadowrun. However, the universe of Shadowrun seems like a good setting for various game genres. The franchise combines traditional fantasy tropes with cyberpunk science fiction.

Rebel_Scum119d ago

Yeah since the megadrive game I’ve always thought how cool the setting and premise is but the game never really delivers on gameplay.

ocelot07120d ago (Edited 120d ago )

Really enjoyed this back on 360. Was one of the first pc games I played as well. Nice to see it's still online I'm going to have to see about getting a copy on pc again.

Edit: is this backward compatible with series X?

Gcayton1119d ago

Fun game... just not Shadowrun.

porkChop119d ago

The Shadowrun RPGs from Harebrained Schemes were great, but that IP is just begging for a massive, Cyberpunk 2077-style game. Open world action RPG epic with a healthy dose of immersive sim goodness.

shinoff2183116d ago

That could turn out really good for real.

The 7 Best Xbox 360 Games - Console Exclusives Win the Day

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?

DrDoomer147d ago

I'm pretty used to these lists being bad, but this one is particularly s#ite.

raWfodog146d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon should have been added to the list.

BrainSyphoned147d ago

I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*

Husker42c147d ago

I really loved Shadow Complex.

P_Bomb146d ago

Ah yes, Shadow Complex! Good indies back in the day. Summer of Arcade. I enjoyed Trials Evolution as well.

ChasterMies147d ago (Edited 147d ago )

Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.

Abnor_Mal147d ago (Edited 147d ago )

Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.

The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.

darthv72146d ago

360 had Namco hitters AC6 and RR6... both quality titles. You should at least bust out the 360 for AC6 if you can score the flight stick. Its great.

Hofstaderman146d ago

When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....

Profchaos146d ago (Edited 146d ago )

It's a nostalgia peice same reason we get thousands of YouTube videos on sega genisis. Something people have fond memories for but the era is long gone.

It's xboxs golden year imo it was their genisis years the time where they stuck it to the market leaders Sony.

BehindTheRows146d ago

They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.

Perfect Dark Zero - Unique Ideas, Flawed Execution

Perfect Dark Zero launched alongside the Xbox 360 back in 2005, to much criticism. 18 years later, is it worth another look?

x_xavier_x156d ago

Perfect Dark Zero was the first game that I purchased for my XBOX 360. I still have the game in my collection. I think I played it for about 45 minutes in total over the past 18 years. It's a really bad game, and I was so disappointed when I first fired it up almost 20 years ago.

zacly156d ago

I had fun with the mutiplayer. Didnt feel like Perfect Dark, but still had some fun with it
