NBA Jam HD Review (Modojo)

Chris Buffa (Modojo): If you're a basketball fan, download NBA Jam HD for the iPad. Electronic Arts shoved most of the high-flying, rim-rattling Wii version onto the App Store without sacrificing much in terms of quality or content. Most importantly, the game resembles its console counterpart, complete with thunderous monster jams, rainbow three-pointers and sweet alley-oops. There's even classic Jam announcer Tim Kitzrow, who punctuates every play with familiar trademark phrases like "Boomshakalaka" and "He's on fire." Bottom line, you need this right now.

Nice article. I would add Tecmo NBA Basketball for the NES to this list. I liked the focus on NBA Jam, though!

Electronic Arts Holiday Sale: Top Ten iPhone And iPad Games

Chris Buffa (Modojo): It appears publisher Electronic Arts is in the spirit of giving. Either that, or it wants to dominate the App Store charts.

Regardless of the company's true intentions, you'll be happy to know that all (and we mean ALL) EA published iPhone and iPad games are now $0.99 (or free) for a limited time, which gives you the perfect opportunity to capitalize on its best titles.

With this in mind, make sure you grab these ten games immediately.

Where Have All The Cheat Codes Gone?

Chris Buffa (Modojo): Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A

The famous "Konami Code", a string of simple commands almost every video game player knows by heart. Although it first debuted in the 1986 NES title, Gradius, the cheat gained notoriety for granting 30 lives in the NES version of Contra, a side scrolling title so difficult most players relied on the code to beat the game.
