What's Next for Metal Gear Can Snake Ever Really Retire

Every few years, I get an urge. An urge to sneak, unnoticed through oil tankers, army bases and underwater military facilities without making so much as a yawn known to the enemy. Moving silently past enemies and gathering intel. was all in a day’s work (while taking down the occasional mammoth two legged tank-robot of course). Fortunately since the mid 90′s there have been a steady stream of just such a premise in the form of “Metal Gear Solid” and it’s descendants.

Only Hideo can make him retire.

you will have not only one Snake but 2 of them. One is the main hero and the other is the villain. You never asked yourself why Kojima made Johnny Akiba look like Snake and made his role look more important in MGS4? He is going to fool you and make you play with him in MGS5 and turn Solid Snake the bad guy (getting tired of all the suffering he went through to defend people that didn't deserve it) à la Big Boss showing only his burn scar at a certain moment of the game, so you can get a glimpse of him and identify him in an unexpected way.

Or maybe, MGS5 can focus on the rise of Frank Jäger known as Grey Fox.

like other people said: Snake is a clone

he can show up young again in the present on in the future and it won't be contradictory with any previous games

if Kojima wants to make a new Metal Gear any issues caused by the ending of MGS4 will be last thing on his mind

EDIT: just reading names like Grey Fox and Frank Jager on this thread makes me want to beg Kojima for more, I just hope Johnny Akiba is not the playable character, I hate his guts, he's the Jar Jar Binks of this universe

In all honesty, there are too many gaps in MGS. They do tell stories to fill the void, but you can still fit some games in there!

Snake is a clone. MGS3, which is arguably the best of the series, didn't technically star "Snake". I know... it's Snake... but not Solid Snake. Anyway, all they have to do is make another clone. Solid Snake could be in a coma, being kept alive and in stasis, while the new Snake goes on a mission to obtain a cure for him. With a storyline like this series has, they could go in many directions. I just hope they return Raiden to the background where he belongs.

Yeah I love MGS4, but MGS3 is arguably the best in the series. The boss battles were second to none. The final battle with The Boss is just epic.

Nitrowolf24813d ago (Edited 4813d ago )

Yup lots of Snake clones
Liquid Snake
Solid Snake
Naked Snake AKA Big Boss
Solidus Snake

Basically they are just code names of the clones.
Even Raiden was called Snake at the beginning of MGS, which i don't think he is a clone, even though they make it seem like he is one of Solidus.

I think we need one with Big Boss or The boss. If not a remake of the original MGS games

cochise3134813d ago (Edited 4813d ago )

Snake is too bad ass to just retire. Only people who might be on the same level of bad assery is Kratos and Chuck Norris.

femshep4813d ago

they need to make the next system metal gear involve Naked Snake

galgor4813d ago

Either this, or remake MG & MG2. I'd love to fight Gray Fox at Zanzibar.

femshep4813d ago

that too ive just liked naked snake more then solid i dunno why see there pretty much the same

SnakeMustDie4813d ago (Edited 4813d ago )

Still waiting for this gen's MGS3 which is "i hope" MGS5. Big Boss > Solid Snake. The only way for another MGS this gen to have so much impact is to make Big Boss vs Zero the center of the plot. Many MGS fans wants to see that. I was slighty disappointed in PW because I thought BB and Zero will have their first encounter after their "heaven's divide".

I’d have taken a few of those out. Prefer Sonic over Sonic 2. Outrun should be in there. Maybe even Pong as millions of people had fun with that even if it was repetitive. Final Fight pipped any Streets of Rage game, although Streets of Rage had the better soundtrack. Too many to list l guess. To me, retro gaming is the 1980s, maybe going into early 1990s.

Agree that the generational gap is too broad to really make a strong list. Need to tighten the years a bit. Hard to compare Pac Man with N64 games.
