I think the PSP just got owned by the DS!! The graphics on this game are utter tripe! Look at the DS version of FF game its 3D!

nasim6060d ago

well this is unexpected considering EUROGAMER is heavily biased to MS. They gave Crackdown a 9/10 .

However PSP domination has started. with ps3 price drop a total SONY domination is in the horizon

xaphanze6060d ago

this is why it got a 9 dude.

MK_Red6060d ago

So you say PSP is owned by DS then DS got owned by old NES because it has Contra 4 with classic Contra graphics huh!??!??

Do you even realise that FFTactics is a classic masterpiece with THESE graphics? If you want high def graphics, go check FFXIII or at least God Of War PSP. (Demo is out)

FF tactics is my favorite FF game too bad Squeenix destroyed the franchise with those kiddie sequels

I miss rival schools....

Syko6060d ago (Edited 6060d ago )

Do you think if I walked up to Nasim with my 360 controller I could stave him off or burn his flesh with it? Kind of like the cross in all the Demonic Possession movies.

Edit: LMAO, Probably not because that Plug n' Play kit from MS is garbage! Bastard wont hold a charge anymore...I'm gonna have to go with Energizer when facing ravenous fanboys. Hardware failure is what they thrive on. Could you imagine if I had a failure while trying to fight the ravenous fanboys off. Catastrophic, to say the least.

Cat6060d ago (Edited 6060d ago )

are the batteries fresh?

EDIT: exactly. fortunately, if it were a controller v.controller battle the sheer weight of the 360 controller would guarantee victory.

goodganja6060d ago

Nasim is telling the truth.

Sorry Nintendo, you held the handheld reign for almost a good 20 years. It was nice, but Sony is after your a$$ and will take the lead.

some really good games on that list. some of my favorites (not on the list) are Metal Slug XX, ultimate Ghosts & Goblins, Gradius Collection, Motorstorm Arctic Edge and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters.

Knushwood Butt615d ago

Metal Slug XX is surprisingly good.

isarai615d ago

I get that The Warriors is technically a PS2 game ported over, but damn it's amazing on the PSP

roadkillers615d ago

Dark Mirror was the best. Multiplayer and single player was fantastic

roadkillers614d ago

Best PSP Games Of All Time Ranked - PlayStation Universe

I'm curious but is it possible to legally play these games without buying a psp?

luckytrouble1144d ago

You can play some of them on the Vita via PSN purchasing, but a PSP with a functional UMD drive is the only completely legal way to play games like FF7: Crisis Core.

WeAreLegion1144d ago

Some of them, yes. But most PSP games are locked to that system or digitally on Vita. The Vita's second analog stick is amazing for FPS games. I use an emulator to play many PSP games. I know that's illegal, but I wouldn't call it unethical. There's no way to give developers money for these games anymore. Unless you buy their new games. :)

Highly recommend Infected, if you get the chance.

Magic_Spatula1143d ago

Emulators aren't illegal. Unethical? Maybe. The issue companies have are how you obtained the games. If you got them through legal matters (such as making your own backups of games you own and not distributing them), they're mostly okay with that. If you got the through less..... ethical means, then yeah, it's a no-no in their eyes.

Fluke_Skywalker1143d ago

@Magic_Spatula Like he said, there is no legal way to buy most psp games anymore in a way that gives the developers any money. So yes emulators are normally illegal and unethical, but in this case its actually the only way to play some of these games, if you didn't buy the games many years ago.

Fluke_Skywalker1143d ago

Yeah they really need to give us a remake of that for PS4/5 I absolutely loved that game. Still the saddest ending to a video game ever.

SDuck1144d ago

The fact this has vanilla Dissidia instead of Duodecim tells me not to take the list serious. Duodecim is obviously the superior since it has the same content (story included) from the first game and (much) more

Magic_Spatula1143d ago

Yeah. Duodecim was basically an enhanced version of the original game.

The Best Final Fantasy Spin-Off Titles Ever Released

Xfire writes "The Final Fantasy franchise is nearly as old as the video game industry itself.

First released way back in 1987, what initially started as a hail mary title has since turned into a media franchise that has spawned more than a dozen mainline titles and been featured in other forms of media, making hundreds of millions of dollars along the way.

But while the mainline titles get all of the attention -- all eyes are currently on Final Fantasy 16 -- the franchise also has a handful of spin-off titles that are just as good as the mainline titles."

I enjoyed World of Final Fantasy and I love Crisis Core

SDuck1168d ago

Do you even know what a spinoff is?

FallenAngel19841168d ago

Do you? if you even have to ask that

FallenAngel19841168d ago (Edited 1168d ago )

@ cool

It’s more than just having characters. KH uses various gameplay mechanics, themes, terminology, & aesthetics from FF.

It just happens to be a spin-off that’s also a crossover, similar to fellow spin-off crossover titles such as Pokémon Conquest, Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle, & Warriors All Stars

coolfool1168d ago

Does including characters from a game make it a spin off? If so, is Smash Bros a spinoff of Metal Gear Solid? 😕

Nerdmaster1168d ago (Edited 1168d ago )

I would put Bravely Default as the best Final Fantasy spin off, even though it doesn't carry the Final Fantasy name (although the japanese version does have the subtitle Flying Fairy so it could carry the FF acronym).

About the games in the list, I like Dissidia 012 a lot, but my favorite is Theatrhythm. I still turn on my old 3DS from time to time to play a few songs.
I wish it had some remixed or orchestrated versions of the old songs, though. NES/SNES songs are nostalgic, but when played by an orchestra they're taken to another level. Strange that some people complained that Theatrhythm Dragon Quest did exactly that... I guess nostalgia does speak loudly.
