Sometimes, selling well can be 750k. Valkyria Chronicles didn't sell millions but by no mean did it bomb in sales.

It seems that it already quite exceeded Atlus' projection in Japan . The rest would be icing on the cake , even if of course , localizing still cost money to get back .

Not to mention it could actually sell easily among some of the persona fans . still a good 150-200k market in usa i believe . And that was on a single console

Whoa, whoa, way to pass judgement on a game YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED, dude.

I haven't disagreed with you, but I'll tell you why I'm kind of exited for it:

It's mainly the premise, and the fact that I usually love games developed by the Persona team. I mean, the whole kind of Jung-esque SYMBOLIC things seen usually throughout their games, regarding the main character's psychological state, as well as deities, demons and whatnot; it's always kind of pretty damn neato.

Mind you, it's not everyone's cup of tea, and I believe you're entitled to your own opinion, yet I, myself, love this kind of thing.

Besides, after playing the Japanese Demo, I felt the gameplay was exactly spot on, personally.

The game also seems to mix the puzzle gameplay with a VN-ish set of cutscenes and conversations, too, and for the talk there has been, it seems the plot doesn't disappoint.

That is why I, myself, am exited for the game.

And to answer you a bit , you still have the everyday's life of the hero's parts .
ANnd multiple path and endings .

Stuff like Heavy rain dont exactly shines through some extremely meaningful gameplay ... but it's still a great experience and adventure .

I'm not claiming Catherine is the same ... but there you go , they went with puzzle and social sims/dating , while some go for QTE

It's part-social sim, part-puzzle platformer in which the main character is cheating on his girlfriend and begins having nightmares about some massive tower. He dies in the tower, he dies in real life. I heard it got pretty good reviews in Japan. the early trailers made the gameplay look really simple, but seeing as they had to PATCH IN AN EASY MODE, there's probably a good bit of depth to it.

If you don't understand the hype, it's from the same people who made Persona 4. P4, a social sim intertwined with a dungeon crawler, also had the idea of building the levels and gameplay around character's psyche and created an excellent story.

Dude trust me on this I played the JPN demo which only comes with an easy mode. That mode by itself is hard.

In the nightmare mode:

Essentially from the level in the demo you have to reach a goal at the top of the level. You do this by manipulating blocks while the floors underneath you are falling and you get something i.e. in the demo a hand with a fork trying to stab you while this is happening. Another thing this hand / obstacle can do is cast a spell that makes certain blocks harder to move and there's some blocks with demon faces that can't be moved at all. So overall you have to really plan out how your going to advance up.
