Sell well by who's standard?

Sometimes, selling well can be 750k. Valkyria Chronicles didn't sell millions but by no mean did it bomb in sales.

Gohadouken4837d ago

It seems that it already quite exceeded Atlus' projection in Japan . The rest would be icing on the cake , even if of course , localizing still cost money to get back .

Not to mention it could actually sell easily among some of the persona fans . still a good 150-200k market in usa i believe . And that was on a single console

rezzah4837d ago

Thanks for going into the future and coming back to let us know this fact.

Never understood the hype of this game...

PirateThom4838d ago (Edited 4838d ago )

Same here, it looks like a pretty meh puzzle/block game with an anime tacked on.

Edit: Disagrees, tell me why I'm mistaken.

Wenis4838d ago

Its because the main character is a girl. weaboos love japanese girls.

Neckbear4838d ago (Edited 4837d ago )

Whoa, whoa, way to pass judgement on a game YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED, dude.

I haven't disagreed with you, but I'll tell you why I'm kind of exited for it:

It's mainly the premise, and the fact that I usually love games developed by the Persona team. I mean, the whole kind of Jung-esque SYMBOLIC things seen usually throughout their games, regarding the main character's psychological state, as well as deities, demons and whatnot; it's always kind of pretty damn neato.

Mind you, it's not everyone's cup of tea, and I believe you're entitled to your own opinion, yet I, myself, love this kind of thing.

Besides, after playing the Japanese Demo, I felt the gameplay was exactly spot on, personally.

The game also seems to mix the puzzle gameplay with a VN-ish set of cutscenes and conversations, too, and for the talk there has been, it seems the plot doesn't disappoint.

That is why I, myself, am exited for the game.

@Wenis:

And here we go with the "lol japaneze lmfao weaboo" ad hominems!

Gohadouken4837d ago

Yeah both girls of the game definitively looks japanese rofl

Redempteur4837d ago (Edited 4837d ago )

@Wenis

what an irony ... regular people don't know the weaboo word , so if you use it that simply means that you're trolling while being perfectly aware and part of the weaboo sect on the web ..

Wenis4837d ago

There isn't any irony. How can one be on the internet, especially gaming sites, without running into herds of weeaboos? Its one of the laws of nature really

Gohadouken4837d ago (Edited 4837d ago )

Thing is , you aint fooling anyone except maybe yourself .

Mostly people geeky enough , yet feeling the need to pretend they are different , use the word weaboo .

It indeed came from a bottomless pit where someone felt the the need to create something that doesnt even qualify as a word , to insult his peers .

And of course even bigger idiots and deluded fools keep perpetuating that tradition . Someone could bother making up guttural sounding words too , for the purpose of describing guys like you , but a definition already exist : a hipster

Homicide4837d ago

Same here. I don't understand the hype for it. Maybe it's being hyped because it's made by the Persona guys. The gameplay is pretty poor; it's just pervy Qbert.

Zermeno_904838d ago

I am so getting this and no reviews or "gamer" is gonna tell me other wise.

Baka-akaB4838d ago

indeed , let the haters hate .

I expect the whole " you guys only care because of the sex" crap from folks around here .

Eamon4838d ago

Well there is a crowd only interested in the game because of that. lol

But here's hoping Jap voices + Subs happen!

PirateThom4838d ago (Edited 4838d ago )

I don't care if people play it because of the sex, whatever, I'm just wondering if there's more gameplay that those block puzzles.

Baka-akaB4838d ago (Edited 4837d ago )

of course there are some . But it's not hard to see trolls jumping the gun . Heck it already has a bit .

Where were they pretending people only bought tomb raider for Lara's boobs ?

@PirateThom

I see you point , and why it doesnt appeal you . So you're hardly lumped with the lot .

And to answer you a bit , you still have the everyday's life of the hero's parts .
ANnd multiple path and endings .

Stuff like Heavy rain dont exactly shines through some extremely meaningful gameplay ... but it's still a great experience and adventure .

I'm not claiming Catherine is the same ... but there you go , they went with puzzle and social sims/dating , while some go for QTE

As part of Atlus' dedicated fanbase, I cannot wait for this game.

Highatus4838d ago
