During Microsoft’s CES keynote Press Conference during the early hours of this morning, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Steve Ballmer, made a bold statement. While discussing the progress made in 2010, Ballmer suggested that the, “Three most important consumer devices,” are the Xbox 360, Windows Phone 7 and the Windows PC.
Paul Thurrott in a recent episode commented on the on-going Microsoft fiasco hinting at more job losses and that "there's more to come".
There won't be no more acquiring game publishers from Microsoft in the future . Xbox has to pay Microsoft back. It might take two decades to do that.
There really needs to be a class action lawsuit here. You buy these companies just to put people out of jobs. And it’s not like something happened to derail their plans this WAS the plan. Microsoft has no business in this space at all.
Ninja Theory, Perfect Dark, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Wolfenstein 3, Dishonored, Prey, Doom, Quake... something tells me that bad things are going to happen to these entities under Microsoft.
The Xbox brand is expanding, as an Xbox mobile game store is opening this coming July where Microsoft will brings its "first-party portfolio."
“Bond adds that they will start on the web”
This will go nowhere.
Nice knowing you Xbox. This is what happens when the house never gets cleaned.
The only this MS is expanding is the amount of feculence it sprays on everyone who just want to enjoy gaming and make games.
The best thing MS can do for the gaming industry is leave and never return.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.
https://www.playstationlife...
They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
I think someone sniffed their deodorant again. LOL...
Well he's hardly going to say
PS3, Android and Linux now. I find it worrying him referring to it as WINDOWS PC, it's like the first stage before going Windows 8 which is a bad move, Windows 7 is fine, I dislike the 1GB OF RAM ON IDDLE. I know it sounds really trivial but that's a lot, remember when you could do the same as you do now with 512mb of RAM. My old machine which ran Ubuntu out of the box used 400-500, Xubuntu and Lubuntu far less.
I use it purely for gaming, if DirectX was more open and all my games supported Ubuntu I'd run Ubuntu without a question, simply because Ubuntu feels more like an OS. In Windows 7 when you click open on a PDF file which is common it download, then Acronbat open, takes a consderable amount longer. Under Ubuntu you'd click open and it'd open. The softwere, isn't running on the OS either, but in it. I can click update and the OS would go out and find updates to all my stuff, download and install it. In Windows most stuff have seperate stuff, this was like how old PC gaming was, now we have steam.
Ubuntu vs 7, if you don't run games atleast try and dual boot, after you set everything up which takes about 30 minutes you may find yourself not going back. I went from vista to Ubuntu and it was just so much better.
He cant be serious.....
the list has some right
windows is easy to use better than vista but XP was the best
Iphone for good reasons but not going with at&t no way i am paying that much for 3g
ps3/xbox360
both systems are great let's just put it like that some gamers have games that they like to play on xbox360 others are fine with ps3.
psn should add some features like party system/chat but other than that i use psn and its just fine could it improve yes. has it improved YEH so give it some time
to be quite honest windows phone doesn't seem all that good but i have yet to try to but from just the advertisement it ain't nothing special
"Lol" isnt a big enough word 2 use right, NO-1 takes MS seriously these days anyway
Hell im STILL usin XP, not 4 much longer though, im gonna buy a Mac next week (or maybe 2moz)
