Operation Flashpoint: Red River Brings Us Modern Warfare Through a Webcam

RipTen: "Last week I was lucky enough to get my hands on Codemaster’s upcoming military FPS – and I’ll let you know right now, this isn’t the type of wargame you’re used to."

"Well, there isn’t any."

haha, pass.

jaredhart4917d ago

Yep, that's how many gamers feel.

BattleAxe4917d ago

I love co-op, so I'll be getting this for sure.

Mystogan4917d ago (Edited 4917d ago )

There is only Co-op, which should give rise to some cool new modes.

CrzyFooL4917d ago

I need more than an 8 hour campaign and so co-op to justify $60 these days.

Quagmire4917d ago (Edited 4917d ago )

OMG...gamers these days....

This is why many SP games are getting tacked on MP

AssassinHD4917d ago (Edited 4917d ago )

Tell me about it Quagmire. I bet half the people who say that an 8 hour campaign is not worth the $60 price point are perfectly fine with paying $20 to watch a 2 hour movie with popcorn and a drink.

I get that multiplayer can be fun, and that it adds replay value, but it is not an absolute necessity. I would rather have an awesome single player experience than have a decent single player experience with tacked on multiplayer. That is why I liked BioShock 1 more than BioShock 2.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO4917d ago

''What you get instead is full 1-4 player drop in/drop out co-op throughout the entire campaign (8+ hours) and various game modes.''

Not bad at all.

Dramscus4917d ago

Yeah I like the sound of those co op modes. Convoy escort, and defend especially.

visualb4917d ago

""but what about multiplayer??"
"Well, there isn’t any."

haha, pass."

wow...with gamers like you, gaming is heading in a great direction /s

seriously, give the game a chance. Maybe absence of MP will allow the to focus on single player? + co-op?

seriously, people are obcessed with MP this gen as if there aren't enough games with it

Lack of Multiplayer is a little bust, wonder why they decided not to include any..

DaCajun4917d ago

Because the multiplayer on OFP:DR was horrible. The only thing it did well was the co-op that's why they are concentrated on just that this time. But just an 8 hour campaign does seem pretty weak when that's all the game will include.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO4917d ago (Edited 4917d ago )

Well, there are good SP Games, but it is weird to find a military FPS without Multiplayer

''What you get instead is full 1-4 player drop in/drop out co-op throughout the entire campaign (8+ hours) and various game modes.''

That's better. Codemasters can focus only in the Campaign and Coop mode.

AKA4917d ago

Well most of the mp games fell like co op this days
it will be good if the AI is good but we need a beta to know this kind of details or i will pass or just buy it once it hit $10 maybe.

Off Topic: John man I can't wait for your game!

guitarded773588d ago

Some mediocre - crap games there. Couldn't even include any Codemasters racing games? It's the only thing they're good at.

Canadiangamernet3588d ago

Including the Dirt series in the bundle would have been awesome but i wouldn't say they are crappy games. I liked Overlord 1 & 2 and both Operation Flashpoint are decent FPS the other one are so so for me.

guitarded773588d ago

Like I said... crappy to mediocre. I liked Overlord too. Didn't care for Operation Flashpoint. But eve liking Overlord, I have no illusions that it isn't a mediocre game.

AntsPai3588d ago

Even though it's still technically a good deal, the whole $5 or £4 thing annoys me. Humble bundle doesn't do this. No thanks.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River - The Shooter That Could Have Been The Greatest

Mobile & Apps: "One of the most underrated shooters of the previous generation was Operating Flashpoint: Red River for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. With all its problems, I believe this is a game that is worth playing, however, it is not too hard to see why the game didn't quite kick off, as it should have."

I liked it, didn't quite finish it though. Maybe I will now.

Codj4146d ago

Loved this game, it was dumbed down from Dragon Rising but still an enjoyable game. Was still offputting to people looking for instant/non stop action

Theangrybogan4146d ago

Ha! Some colleagues and I are actually planning on hitting this one up tonight. Great game.
