Catherine: Different Packages for PS3 and Xbox 360

not hating on the 360 but tales of vespiria was released for the 360 and it didn't sell.and as a result tales of grace f isn't going to be localized.

thats why a big marketing ploy in japan that works better than in any other country is make a product "collectible" by releasing many different versions of the same product and/or limited editions of alternate versions

by doing this, they will ensure that the collectors (many in japan) that get the PS3 version and enjoy the game will get the 360 version merely due to "collecting everything related to the game they love"

its a smart way of pushing a product without much chance of selling by it self.

let me word it this way

the cover art with the girl centered with her head on the upper 3rd of the composition with her bra and body visible is more pleasing than the girl with her head in the lower 3rd of the composition with her ass on the upper 3rd, mainly due to the laws of proportion and human aesthetics.

You see, the top images is far more inviting.
Not only due to the facial expression (which is also far better), but also due to the insinuated action.

the bottom image the girls' head and over all "position" is a little awkward, especially from a front angle.
This causes her head to have as much "dominance" or presence as her ass, unfortunately her ass (which is slightly hinted with a bit of flesh) is cut off by the label.

This interrupts the "completion" of the form which in cause doesn't allow it to be as "erotic" or "suggestive" as it could be.

you could argue "but the head is cut off too" but you see, the most important part of the head is present - the expression and the tilt.

and above all, the colour palate is also a big factor.

the top image isn't only more dynamic (skin colour, yellow, white, red, blue - excluding all the pink and stuff) its also lighter.
the bottom image has only skin colour, black, white, grey, brown...not so dynamic.

and finally, the filling of the space in the top image isn't only greater, thus, more attention grabbing, but also there's more "motion" to it, which makes it far more dynamic.
now in layman's terms:
the bottom one the chick is just lying there...looking bored.., the top chick looks like she's about to have sex with you.

happy? or do you still think its just down to the PS3 and Xbox 360!?...

Not to mention that circular crescent logo thing on the 360s box art makes it look creepy, since when you're looking at the whole picture at once, it looks like she's bleeding, like she had been hit over the head with something (it also kind of gives you that illusion with the way her eyes are set up), you have to look directly at the logo thing for it not to be creepy and look like somebody just hit her over the head with a baseball bat.

The PS3 version is more suggestive. But I have to side with the people that prefer the X360 version.

What the PS3 chick is doing is way more of a turn on, and damn that bra is sexy, whereas the X360 chick is not doing much of anything at all... but its all about the characters for me.

Now the chick on the X360 box... she isn't doing much that is suggestive, her clothes aren't that hot, infact she is barely even trying. And that is why I'd pick her.

That little wink she is doing is her way of saying I'm going to do things to you that will make every other woman you experience afterwards a dissapointment. She's not going to put in the work to make you hot, because she knows she doesn't have to. Her clothes are black and almost gothic, but not even the least bit skimpy. Unlike the PS3 girl who has obviously spent a good deal of time getting her hair to do what its doing, the X360 girl has just left hers hanging down naturally... and I bet it reaches down to her chest and she could use it to cover her nipples.

Oh, and those glasses... oh my god, I really don't know why but glasses have got to be one of my high tier fetishes. There is little hotter than a chick with glasses on. I have quite litterally been in situations where I havent found a girl that attractive, but then they put on glasses and suddenly I yearn for the touch of their skin... especially the helf-glasses that this girl is wearing. In some cases glasses are even hotter than panties. Anyway, this girl is going to show you a time like you never thought you would have, and afterwards you are going to get on your knees and thank her for it, and you better just hope that you were able to satisfy her needs.

Actually, the 360 cover looks better in my opinion- girls with glasses are my thing.

Also, the game won't be toned down in the States. It's a third party game, Microsoft has barely any saying on it- and they allowed it for JP release already, why not give it a go for NA release intact?

Let's not forget, the game has a Cero C rating- which implies it's not nearly as risque as it looks.

That aside, the different cover for different versions thing is actually popular in Japan.

I expect "weak" sales for the 360 version IF you compare them to the PS3 version- but even then, the port itself will still pay off, as the porting process for the 360 is pretty much cheap.

Atlus just knows there's a part of their fanbase on the 360, which is why the game is multiplatform. Seriously, bro.

CERO ratings are the Japanese ESRB- a Cero C rating suggests that the game is recommended for an audience over 15 years old, if I'm not wrong. It's like a middleground between a T and a M game.
