Biggest Gaming Delights of 2010

AOTF: If 2010 was anything for gamers it was full of games and big announcements regarding the future of our favorite hobby. We had it all, hardware announcements, highly awaited titles that met expectations, and some surprising newcomers to the landscape. Since we already got our disappointments out of the way here are our biggest gaming delights of 2010 in no particular order.

God of War 3 - Just when you think that maybe we've seen the best that this generation has to offer, Sony Santa Monica comes along with a big kick in the ass to prove that you haven't seen anything yet. Playing to the strengths of the PlayStation 3 Sony Santa Monica gave other developers the coup de grace when it comes to best graphics this generation. The sheer size and scope of God of War 3 was mind boggling, and set new standards for what to expect from a sequel.

Can't argue with much here. I think Splinter Cell Conviction probably should have been mentioned I had the most fun this year with that.

math4920d ago

Splinter Cell god if they would have included a decent multiplayer instead of the deniable ops crap it would still likely be being played by a whole bunch of people. But since they didn't it was just a flash in the pan.

NegativeCreepWA4919d ago

Yeah should of stuck with the old multi-player it was what made the series so good.

Immortal3214919d ago

Now I don't have to waist my ammo on opinions, and that's fact.

visualb4919d ago

just been playing pandora tomorrow again

I can't for the life of me understand why the debut of SC on HD consoles wasn't kept stealthy...sure they can try new things but...SC isn't the same without fischer in the SC suit and the gadgets =D

LeeRoyJenkins4920d ago

Ahem...Starcraft 2.. that is all.

Panthers4919d ago

100% agree. The most fun Ive had this year was with SC2

My favorite and I think you missed it was Black Ops. Easy best game of 2010 for me.

jjank114919d ago

Seriously.....This is sarcasm right........Its not even the best game in its own genre!!!

I just want 4k/1440p and 60fps support. And with little glitches too ofc.

Snookies127d ago (Edited 7d ago )

This is about the PC version of RDR 1. The PC version of RDR 2 doesn't have a frame rate cap. Though I do agree, it is mind boggling that Rockstar still hasn't released a patch for consoles.

XiNatsuDragnel8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

It'll be great if true

LucasRuinedChildhood7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

Hopefully 60fps on consoles for RDR2 is next then.

LucasRuinedChildhood7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

Honestly, a PS5 Pro isn't even needed for 60fps in this case. But if they wanted to use it show a game running maxed out at a high resolution at 60fps, I wouldn't complain. Just give us 60fps. lol

I think the Series X might have an issue running the One X version at a locked 60fps as that version was a full native 4K but they could just lower the resolution a bit.

purple1017d ago (Edited 7d ago )

I wish to play both stellar blade, and rdr2, on the pro, maxed out like an expensive pc,

would be good, especially for the price, even if thats £499/ £549

last I checked, a rtx 4070super was £580 for just the card!

DaReapa7d ago

There aren't many games I'd double dip for, but having originally gotten this for PS3, I would happily get this if true.

I hope this is one of those patents that never comes to fruition.

I already dislike the fact you can pay a significant amount for a online service buy associated games and content on said service and get banned from that service over potentially a misunderstanding the bans are already handed out for flimsy reasons

I'd rather see money invested in a ban that simply removes the offensive players ability to communicate with unknown players allow them to continue party chats with friends but not with Joe blow on cod.

exputers27d ago

Agreed. Blizzard recently banned a college Overwatch 2 player who's dependent for saying "shit." Pretty harsh.

Profchaos26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

How rediculas really. You can't say a word that's allowed in most PG films and prime time TV but the game is based around killing the enemy team using guns, explosives etc.

It's just backwards.

just_looken26d ago

What your talking about is called block list

In 2006 a spaceship dropped of the playstation 3/xbox 360 i say that that generation was the last great gen with game functions/tech that has yet to comeback

Anyhow the playstation 3 if you block listed a id they could not talk to you in chatroom with either text or voice. But that was pre mind fucked 2018 when people were more human than sheep.

But hey gta 6 is coming out billion dollar budget without a single player custom character creator and without singeplayer coop off/online something saints row 1-3 had on the xbox 360.

Take my social security and bank account numbers too! Here’s a picture of my wife and our address.

phoenixwing26d ago

Cmon where's the pictures of your children. Don't hold out on them.

H926d ago

At this rate I feel Sony will eventually sell a room to play games in it where they can monitor your every breath

jambola26d ago

I genuinely get a bit worried sometimes when a friend says something that could be offensive In a party
Because I have no trouble believing some bans would happen when in a private party for saying something wrong

SegaSaturn66926d ago

I want them to censor erotic content by measuring my groin temperature so i dont get too distracted while playing black ops 2.

Popsicle26d ago

Terrible idea. Not only do I not consent to providing my biometric data, the potential for mishandling biometric data is almost a certainty. Positive stress and negative stress can produce similar changes in biometrics. Interpreting the precise emotion a person is feeling is not only invasive but could be easily misconstrued. I hope this never comes to fruition.
