Warhawk Lands a 4/5 From Yahoo! Games

It's difficult to be at all negative about this game, because Warhawk is just so much fun and hugely playable. The only criticism that can be leveled at it is that there is absolutely no single-player option whatsoever so, obviously, leave this well alone if you have no broadband connection. Otherwise this is highly recommended whether you go for the game with bonus extras on Blu-ray disc, or else download the cheaper version from the PlayStation Store.

I highly doubt anyone had a problem with Bioshock because it didn't have multiplayer. The developers of both these games did what was right for the gamers, and opted not to "tack on" what would have never felt natural in the first place. After playing Warhawk, I don't see how it ever would have worked well as a single player experience.

I didnt read the article but I saw the headline that someone felt the multiplayer felt "Tacked-on" on Stranglehold. Maybe it was. Maybe it was because they felt if they had no multiplayer people would complain about that, but rather than devote too many resources to it they added a slight multiplayer element. You cant win.

I probably NO multiplayer or NO single player is better than a halfarsed attempt. Good for both Warkhawk and Bioshock devs for concentrating on their main events, especially Irrational for Bioshock. I feel everything is getting too focused on online and multiplayer anyway. I like single player games.

Having said that I think Warhawk is finally gonna get me online.

Keep searching the Skies for BathyJ. Shame we have to wait for the BR/headset version.

i think its valid that they took some points off for it not having a single player mode because thats a standard in most games. alot of people might not wanna play it just because it doesn't have single player (i was in that group BEFORE the beta).

Well heres one review that proves that the idiot from psm was a flaming xbot. usually yahoo is pretty decent with game reviews imo. they pretty much stated the same thing was wrong with the game that psm did, and that theirs no single player whatsoever....the difference is they gave it a 4/5 and psm gave it a 6.5/10. give me a break psm.....that f***ing guy is an idiot.

I've played the game and, it totally rocks. It's a freaking blast as far as online play goes. There's nothing wrong with it other then the lack of single player mode. In all honesty, it's the online playability that keeps me coming back for more with regular game anyway.

This game is easily the king of online console games for 2007:

32 players per match
Dedicated servers
User dedicated servers
BluRay lan party single disc install for the entire party
Both air and ground combat

Everyone who was in the beta will tell you this is the game to beat for online play. Halo 3 sure as hell can't compete with its crappy graphics and laggy P2P networking and pathetic 16 player matches.

Only Unreal on the PS3 stands a chance going up against Warhawk.

Bio Shock to Warhawk! Both games are shooters but only one is online! One is a FPS(we can all agree its been done b4 but Bio Shock does it different) and one is a 3rd person 32player online kill fest!

I can wait for this game! Like i can wait for the PS3 to give me MGS and a ton of games that we know will rule! Im happy i only have to wait till tuesday! Then i can wait till HS two weeks later!

That 6.5 score was a joke. Shadowrun scored an average of 6.8 with the gaming media. Warhawk steps all over Shadowrun in just about every way possible and still give you a free bluetooth headset to boot. How in the hell could you score it less then Shadowrun and expect people to take you seriously? PSM should just fade away and die...

This game is about a 9 when downloadable content comes out. A 10 if they fix the infantry movement mechanics...

They give it a 8 out of 10 and say the only negative is no single player? Then why not score it higher since everyone knows going in it's multiplayer only. I'm not saying this game is better than Bioshock so 360 fans don't go bonkers for what I'm about to say. But why is it Bioshocks rating wasn't affected by it not having multiplayer but it appears Warhawk might be taken a hit because it doesn't have single player. This is the 2nd review of Warhawk now where I have seen the reviewer it not having single player and it appears to be affecting it's rating.

I'm not saying this is a better game then Bioshock but WTH? Is it going to be mentioned that is has no single player in every review from here on out and have the rating dwarfed some because of it?

A-DUH. Rate it knowing that and quit mentioning not having single player as a downfall. If anything Warhawk has more diversity over most shooters I have played the past few years. I can't remember a game that plays quite like it.

I really hope these reviews aren't deducting points for the lack of a single player campaign. That would be extremely retarded in a game designed specifically for multi-player. I'm glad they didn't attempt to throw some half-assed single player mode in there, just to say that it was implemented.
