StickSkills: Smackdown Vs Raw 2011 Preview

StickSkills.com writes, "There’s nothing quite like the days of wrestling games on the Nintendo 64. Whether you paid more attention to the classic wrestlers that were apart of that era, or the wealth of game modes and accessible controls, you couldn’t help but love the wrestling titles on the Nintendo 64.

To be perfectly honest, I’ve found it hard to enjoy wrestling games since that date. From an array of design decisions that haven’t sat well with consumers, lag on online modes, less than accessible controls, or whatever the reason may be, the days of wrestling video games just haven’t been the same.

Earlier last week, I was invited out to LA to spend some time with THQ and Smackdown vs Raw 2011 along with quite a few other community members. Being a more casual fan of the wrestling genre along with not having spent a great deal of time with recent wrestling games, I was coming into the event ready to rip apart the title"

I love how every time a game is announced people hype it up to the heavens and it always, always, let me stress this -- ALWAYS, under preforms. This will be no different than the countless other WWE games that all suck and blow goat nips. It already sucks and I don't need to play it to know that.

It's a wrestling game for one.
It's made by THQ for two.
It's a smackdown wwe game for three.
It's based on the worst form of entertainment this side of Operation repo and Jersey Shore.

How can it possibly even have a chance at being good? It can't.

However, you've yet to play it, right? Coming from someone who hasn't enjoyed a wrestling game since No Mercy, I actually liked this one.

Good comparison, they've got worse with age.

Many of the old animations look better than the new ones especially the Sweet Chin Music and Goldberg's spear. The 2K14 Clothesline from Hell looks awesome though.

10 Video Games That Nobody Bothers To 100%

"In the age of achievements and trophies, many games encourage you to aim for that 100%, no matter how difficult it may be. Reaching 100% is considered to be, funnily enough, an achievement. You need more encouragement than that. Gamers need to be given a reason to keep on playing past the end of the story, or in some cases, play the entire game again. Some just don’t deliver on that front."
