The SvR series spanned seven years - from ‘Ruthless Aggression’, through to the current ‘PG’ era. It started on PlayStation 2 back in late 2004, in the ‘Ruthless Aggression’ era, which was a borderline Attitude Era - you wouldn’t see a bra and panties match in a modern WWE game - or on TV, for that matter.
John from the video games " Wrestling is a combat sport involving grappling type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds. Well it is that but under the banner of WWE which is the biggest franchise out there it is known as Sports Entertainment."
Tecmo's WWF Wrestlefest in the arcades was awesome. Then Royal Rumble and WWF Raw came out on consoles and were pretty great too.
But Power Move Pro Wrestling on the PS1 trumps all.
Bidness Gaming: WWE wrestling games went through several transitions, but in the end we saw it all end in a count-out!
IMO the story aspects became the worst. the universe mode isn't as good as the GM mode(imo)
commentary is really bad
enemy ai isn't good neither is hit detection
instead of putting effort into single player story all we have gotten are past glory moments. i mean we are basically watching replays of old matches
i am surprised we didn't get a true wwe vs wcw game
the one wwe game few years ago with wcw story line was good(i had fun with story mode atleast)
here comes the pain
shut your mouth
day of reckoning
no mercy
are some of the best wwe wrestling games
Bidness Gaming lists three best WWE wrestling video games of the last 15 years.
I also enjoyed all the Aki wrestling games for the N64. I know this wasn't a WWE game but Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 (import) was my favorite.
