Can The Headshot Be Replaced?

Sure, you can kill a guy. You can do this in a variety of ways, pinpointing a wide array of locations on the body. But there’s a tinge of humiliation that occurs when you best your opponent via headshot. You’re not just killing them, depriving them of bodily function: you’re taking them out completely, their mind is yours to claim as well. You’re turning off the lights, laying claim to body and soul. You have absolute power over them, and all because you managed to dispatch one or two well-placed shots. Power negotiations between players of opposite teams are never more apparent than that search for the infamous BOOM HEADSHOT.

So, the headshot is fantastic: but can it be replaced?

but in reality the crotch shot wont instantly kill you, it will only make you want to kill your self if you survive.

Well, in the millitary sense the headshot is not advised, it's the heart snipers go for, in the ideal world it's the T-SHOT but that's difficult.

The headshot just works in video games. It's smaller and takes more skill to get a shot on. It has a difficulty and a pay off.

The only time I want to see the chest/heart shot is when the game has lean. Otherwise, the game is just making insta-kills too easy.

Doesn't need to be replaced. Headshots used to be there because they used to take skill to get. Nowadays, you can just spray your balls off and hit someone in the foot once and somehow it's a headshot. *cough*CoD*cough*

Getting a stick with the plasma grenades in Halo has been far more gratifying than a head shot with a sniper rifle. That little half second before the guy blows up is just the right amount of time to enjoy watching him realize what's just happened.

lets create creative ways to fight person myself.
I would love to see hand/arm shots leg/hip shots... shots that don't necessarily kill but hinder the enemy in such a way that they are less effective...
an Arm shot means that they are reduced to single handed guns and those swing 40degrees a second up down and around randomly... a leg shot reduces their speed and makes it so that they can only shot while laying down.
a Head shot is not an instant kill but more of a blindness thing - you can only see out of 1 eye (cut scope of vision by 40%) etc

of course to go with this... remove damnable spawning from shooters... your dead your out. that means tactics and things like wounds would actually mean something.

shots should and could kill in 1 no matter where they hit you - but it is more of a random thing ... sure you got arm shot but if you get hit in a lucky way... your dead.
