Star Wars Games That Deserve A Comeback (RunDLC)

There are well over 100 games based on Star Wars, from the excellent SNES trilogy to Republic Commando on Xbox and PC. You can find many of these hits in stores and online, but a few either never appeared on consoles or debuted so long ago that we forgot how much fun they are. On that note, here’s a short list of our most wanted Star Wars titles that need to reappear as DLC for WiiWare, Xbox Live and/or PSN.

Not sure if I'd really want the Ep. 1 pod racer, but all the others we loads of fun.

GodsHand5042d ago

I would not mind seeing a remake of Shadows of the Empire.

Buff10445042d ago

That Hoth mission blew my mind...and the on rails mission with the asteroids wasn't bad either.

Darkstorn5041d ago

Knight of the Old Republic 3 would make my week.

smilydude135042d ago

What the hell? No KOTOR? No Jedi Knight? No TIE fighter?

Fuck this shit.

RedDead5042d ago (Edited 5042d ago )

I agree, they're the best things to come out of Star wars as a whole. It rediculous that he has Rogue in there instead of Tie Fighter when Tie fighter is praised so much more. And Jedi Knight isn't there. WTF? Kotor is my favourite thing from Star Wars and it's just not there.

EDIT---Does any one know how to make their arms(and well bodies come apart hehe) come off like this? I never knew this, DAMN!

Yeah Kotor is just brillant haha. Revan :)

Baka-akaB5042d ago (Edited 5042d ago )

Agreed , "hd kotor" would be great

smilydude135042d ago

@RedDead

You have to input a cheat for the dismemberment. Watch out though, you get dismembered to. ; )

But seriously though, we need KOTOR 3. I personally don't even think Bioware would be necessary and that Obsidian would be able to do it if LA actually gave them a proper budget and development cycle (Unlike with KOTOR 2... which I personally prefer over the first one even with its short-comings).

Also JEDI KNIGHT WITH MOVE SUPPORT AND DISMEMBERMENT. NOW.

Buff10445042d ago

I spent hours with Racer...maybe because I didn't have another game like that on Dreamcast.

The Great Melon5042d ago

Pod Racer was so much fun. I never have played another racer that just clicked with me so much. Wipeout, F-Zero, etc. never have been able to topple Pod Racer from the pedestal I have placed it on.

Rubberlegs5042d ago

Loved Shadow of the Empire one of my favorite N64 games. The the problem with it now is that the controls are horribly dated. A VC version would carry over the same controls. Would rather see them do a remake even if it looked the same just update the controls.

Buff10445042d ago

Good point. Not sure how those controls would translate to the Wii remote. Maybe the classic controller would work best.

NYC_Gamer5042d ago

i dislike every star wars game made besides the knights of old republic series...

ITLoo5042d ago

I want to see the Star Wars trilogy arcade game for Kinect or Wii. Pod Racer for N64 would be fun on there too.

Buff10445042d ago

I recall getting motion sickness from playing Racer...one of the few games that did that to me. Of course, I kept playing anyway! :)

Wow. Nostalgia hitting hard. Younger gamers, when this game came out the opening Hoth level had some of the best graphics ever seen lol. Along with Mario 64.

sadraiden507d ago

I'm not sure how we beat these bosses as kids. IG88 is a nightmare and I only beat him by cheesing. No clue how I beat Boba Fett and Xizor.

VanHalen507d ago (Edited 507d ago )

Will never forget on Christmas morning cracking open that game. Putting it on and being blown away by that Hoth level. That boss level with Boba Fett seems to stick out for me. Just awesome! The graphics were so dang good!

At the time the game was kinda hard to get I recall, along with Super Mario 64. Damn those were some good times!

VJGenova507d ago

It went for $75 at launch. People forget how SNES and N64 games regularly sold for $60-80/each.

Great games though.

DaReapa507d ago

Got this game ages ago for the N64 and loved it. Bought it a couple years ago on Steam for nostalgia purposes. The control scheme makes it not age well.

ZeekQuattro507d ago

Had a lot of fun playing this game. There were so many codes. You could play as Wompas, stormtroopers/snowtroopers and even At-Sts on the Hoth level. Lots of good memories. I know I've said it ad nauseam but this game got me into Star Wars at a time when it just wouldn't click with me. SOTE changed everything for me. With so many Star Wars games being ported to modern consoles these days I was hopping this one would be in the cards eventually. It needs a lot of work but I'm sure it can be done.

Ah, videogame staple for me since Ninja Gaiden 2 on NES!

Relientk771161d ago

Just came here to make sure Uncharted 2 was on the list.

Unknown_Gamer57941160d ago

It is. There's no way a list of this type of any credibility would forget that train.

Terry_B1161d ago

No FF VI or FF VIII Doomtrain? Bad List is bad.
