no its the people they wanted a final fantasy that stayed between the lines of what happened 20 years ago without innovating at all that is what is wrong with you gamers today you change something and they dont like it give them more of the same and they complain about it being the same

they cahnge things and you say its not the same square from 15 years ago of course its not because they are innovating they care changing their game up unless you want to play final fantasy with only minor tweaks to the story

not to mention everything else is youre opinion you didnt like the story but i did quests what quest all final fantasys are one giant quest with everything totaling to the ending

wow didnt know you could know all that stuff about me from my 4 lines of text. I actually like the story in XIII never said i didnt. Also XIII didnt have any side quests at all just side fights. that being said i dont hate XIII its a good game but not the best FF. And why the hell would they need to re-invent it? If it isnt broken don't fix it. Not every game this gen needs to be innovative to be great. Its people like you that made FF the way it is by bitching about innovation when NOT ONE FF fan asked for a drastic change.

On topic, I do hope that this game impresses. FFXIII was good, but not great like we all expected. Hopefully VS is the return to form that all SE fans are craving.

Lol Chris, I know right? I was kind of surprised I got a disagree. No idea why but there a lot of phantom disagree happy people on this site. Maybe they thought I was lying or something? XD But I have in fact bought my tickets for both the 18th and 19th of September. Booked the actual flights nearly two months ago.

On topic though; I think this will be the next gen FF game fans are waiting for. FFXIII had inklings of it but, although say, I loved it, it still left me wanting more. Design choices made it so that I wasn't completely satisfied :/

this is the final fantasy everyone has been waiting for it is being made by the A team at SE. everythig in this article sounds far better then everything in ff13. i will finally be able to gain a little respect back for SE with ffvs13.

-open world map with air ships and cars

-very few load screens

-the graphics are so good cgi is barely needed

-real time battles with a better battle system(kingdom hearts sytle)

-Terrain diversity is MUCH more detailed and vast than in Final Fantasy XIII.

-day/night cycle with realistic clouds which will give the world a more real feel to it

i'm glad this game is doing everything ff13 couldn't because of certain limitations.

I really look forward to the darker world it looks they are pursuing. It's kind of like they are removing the fantasy enviroment, but keeping the fantasy elements in a modern world. I really like the direction they have gone with this game. Hopefully the game itself will also impress.

versus is actually being made by the B team [KH team] and if u ask me FFXIII's lacking weren't because of the team it was because of the bad narrative and the lackluster characters along with the disease that's called [Westernization] which ruined a lot of games FFXIII included and not to forget sacrificing quality for sales [though u can't blam them they are running a business aftar all] let's just hope that VS saves the day.

lol sorry buddy everyone knows Tetsuya Nomura is the most talented person at SE just look at the games he has worked on not one is bad. look at what they have done a weak hand held console with KH chain of memories and birth by sleep. also everyone knows ff has done nothing but get worst whereas KH has been getting better. lastly looking at everything this has and ff13 doesn't have it is obvious who is the B team.

A actualy world map to explore, a battle system that is like a mix of KH and FF, AIRSHIPS!, and maybe finally they will have mastered this wandering monsters feature they have been doodling around the past games (From XI to XII to XIII and finally to XIII, they all have wandering monsters not random encounters). Better look out of the release date cause im going have to prepare a lot of caffine so i can stay up all night!

Not a lot of people out there are still Kingdom Hearts fans with, the only KH game to be slightly disappointing to some fans being KH 358/2 Days plus you should try out Kingdom Hearts Birth by sleep when it comes out because it is looking to be a great game coming out by square-enix.

As per what most have already said, this will be the best Final Fantasy in ages and that's coming from someone who enjoyed FFXIII. All signs are pointing to an epic TGS which will be good since the last few years were lame as hell.

I really hope this remains a ps3 exclusive and that they take all the time in the world to implement all the ideas they had for this game so it can be the best game it can be.Don't ever want to hear "we cut content from this game enough to make another game"(FF13).but if this game turns out okay which high 80s for a JRPG that it will only prove that square enix does not have "it" anymore.The western games industry in terms of RPGs has truely being moving foward if you look at oblivion and Fallout so I would like to see a true next gen JRPG that's fun,has fantastic musical score,emotive,well written script,amazing art style an imaginative.Innovation has not being seen in JRPG since the ps2 days with Persona games.and this is jst more than a game but actually the rebirth of the Japanese game industry.Fingers crossed.Now Sony where is my DARK CLOUD 3?.
