Ironstar: As a fan of the UFC, I thought it'd be hard for me to come to terms with the fact that the title of this article is 100% percent true. I mean I do love to watch MMA, and though "STRIKEFORCE" is not my choice brand of MMA to view, I still respect what they do. But it's no secret that the UFC is far more entertaining to watch than any other fighting that's out there, hands down.
But on the video game scene, the tides have turned completely as the game with the UFC license is getting ready to start taking some serious L's for times to come if they don't make some HUGE changes. EA Sports' MMA is what a next-gen mixed martial arts fighting game should be. You want to talk about the total package for mixed martial arts fighting, you got it right here. Period.
There are no thoughtful ads in Video Games, EA. Leave them be.
I think the only type of games that can gets away with it would be sport games, having those sponsors ads on the side like on real life.
But don't put freaking Doritos ads in Star Wars or something, it breaks the immersion. If it is a pop-up ads, then big no.
One of my favorite series is the THPS franchise, and it was packed with ads, but it didn't bother me. Posters for skateboard companies, JEEP, and Nokia phones. It did sort of fit in with the game world, but that was the past, these days ad would be intentionally intrusive or unskippable loading screen type of imagery. Ugh, I know EA would do it in a horrible fashion. Screw them.
EA senior staff has been investigated for sexual misconduct involving female coworkers, and these said people have been named publicly.
Aye just call Phil, i mean he somehow made Bobby Kotick's scandal disappear and gave him a few million dollar high five on the way out.
EA about to go down like Activision and then Phil saves the day saying.this is good for the industry and consolidation will help create competition. /s.
What's up with all these horny creeps. You gon be horny, fine. Just not at work take care of that shit before you go in. Rub one out if you have to. Don't be a creep at all. ESPECIALLY at work. But don't be one AT ALL.
"it seems that according to EA, given the events transpired outside of work between two adults, and the fact that once investigation has started that the alleged perpetrators didn’t do it again, the investigation is considered closed. [...] The victim still has to work with the people that harassed her."
Yep, EA is disgusting.
EA has announced it will engage in a shareholder-pleasing share buyback program just a couple of months after mass layoffs at the studio.
For me i think UFC is by far better than MMA i cant wait for MMA to fail and iam talking about the games not the actual UFC and MMA
UFC 2010 was pretty much the same game as the last one.....not really a bad thing, but not really a whole lot different.....I'm all about the fight night series, so I gotta feeling this is gonna be great......
I'm not into button-mash fighting, the analog control is where its at....EA has gotten it down to a science with their years of playing with the fight night series....so the MMA game controls will be awesome as well.....
I agree with the author too, it's too bad EA and UFC could'nt have just struck a deal from the get-go...but EA did'nt want anything to do with MMA a couple of years ago, but now they see how popular it is and...etc....etc....
"I think MMA is set to truly take a catastrophic gorilla shit on it's competitor."
OT: MMA is gonna be a whole different beast. i know EA turned down UFC whenever they came to them or whatever, but i dont care.
This really just makes me want to go play Clay Fighter.
Wait a minute? Where's your proof?
I've read what you're typing but from the videos I've seen of MMA, I'm not impressed.
Perhaps you should have reworded your title. MMA currently does not come close to looking as good as UFC does. Will it play better? Guess we'll have to wait until the game comes out to find that out.
BTW...I think you need some glasses and if you already have those, perhaps you should consider retiring from game reviews. Nothing in this article except for the Dana White bit is based on fact!
If you would have done your homework, you would know that Dana White and EA had talks previously but EA did not want to pursue anything. That's why White hates EA and I can't blame him. Now they want a piece of the MMA pie too?
