Now sports fans will get to see Activision's weird-looking Little League World Series characters in high definition! The last two iterations of the kid-friendly baseball franchise have been exclusive to Wii and DS, but Activision has announced Little League World Series Baseball 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
GameFocus writes: "Earlier this year I had the pleasure of reviewing two great ball games, MLB 10 The Show and MLB 2K10. While both titles tend to focus on offering fairly accurate simulations of America’s favorite pastime, they’re both a little intense when it comes to the stat-heavy, ultra-realistic features. Sure, that’s great for the older fans out there who want to keep things as close to real as they can get, but what about the younger baseball fans who just want to have some fun?"
Over the past week or so, GamesEyeView got to sit down with Little League World Series Baseball 2010 from Japanese developers NowPro and publishers Activision. Admittedly, they weren’t all that sure what to expect going in to the experience. The cover of the box would have you thinking that this game was a simulation baseball game based on the annual little league tournament in South Williamsport, PA. But surprisingly they found an arcade title inside the box. The bait and switch of the live action shots of little leaguers on the cover and an anime style arcade game on the inside is hardly the game’s only issue however.
Diehard GameFAN writes: "Annually since 1947, the world’s best little league baseball players have gathered for the Little League Baseball World Series. This event has become an international phenomena, gathering kids from all around to compete to be the best little league team in the world. Now Production must have taken notice of how quickly the Little League World Series was gaining in popularity, and started developing the Little League World Series Baseball franchise since 2008 for the Nintendo Wii, earning nice remarks from our own Matt Yeager. This year, with the third installment, Now Production has moved away from the Wii and instead released Little League World Series Baseball 2010 on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 video game consoles."
