Monkey Island 2 Special Edition video documentary from LucasArts

LucasArts has released a web documentary video for their upcoming release of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge Special Edition. The video documentary features some of the original developers (Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer, and Dave Grossman) along with some of new developers for this enhanced edition of Monkey Island 2. It's a great look into some of the visual and audio production of Monkey Island 2 Special Edition. The video also shows you some new enhancements, even beyond what the first Monkey Island Special Edition offered.

Can not wait for this good to see the guys are still going and point and click has a new lease of life. Killzone 3 is nothing in comparison to this beauty ;)

Having to do a thing three times would make my list as #1

Jeriphro884d ago

What do you mean? Like doing the same task three times in a row?

BrainSyphoned884d ago (Edited 884d ago )

Ya, find three items, kill three mini bosses, go to three dungeons. Things of three is a tired video game sweet spot number.

For me, it's collect-a-thons. They weren't fun in Donkey Kong or Banjo and Kazooie and they still aren't fun now. Why create these wonderfully oversized, detailed worlds if you are going to just supplement gameplay with ambiguous item fetch-quests.

There are exceptions, of course, But by and large, it just shows laziness on the part of the developer.
Good article, by the way!

Jeriphro884d ago

Yeah. It is funny some of the design decisions made by developers. Another one that irks me is unskippable cutscenes, especially after you die after the cutscene and are forced to rewatch the unskippable cutscene AGAIN. I mean, who thinks that a great idea?! haha

jambola884d ago

how about not allowing cutscene skipping
that's flat out inexcusable in any game in the last 10 years

this comments are demanding a "The 4 Horsemen of The Apocalypse of Game Design Flaws" sequel

I suggest anyone with an xbone or 360 get this game, along with broken sword 1 and 2 , monkey island are in the highest tier of point and click adventures. 100 percent recommend them to anyone the humour alone is worth it😊

edit: @ Chris, well I hope you enjoy it some find point and click adventures tedious because they aren't all action but I have always been a fan of them myself ever since text adventures which where basically the predecessors of them such as the Lord of the Rings text adventure games, dodgey geezers (not many people have played it unless from the UK and old like me ) , Balrog (classic text adventure made by a random guy for a competition) and the hobbit, all worth giving a go if you can handle playing a text adventure.

I downloaded it this morning. Will try it out later in the week.

Are the free Xbox Live Games With Gold titles for February 2017 any good?

Carlos writes "It’s hard to believe that January is almost over. It seems like only yesterday we were preparing ourselves for that scrumptious Christmas feast, but then if you look at just how much has happened in the world of gaming in January, you’d be forgiven for thinking we were fast approaching June with the countless releases arriving on consoles this month.

But with another month coming to a close, one thing we can always look forward to is the knowledge that some fresh new free games will headed the way of Xbox Live Gold members via the Xbox Games With Gold program. Whilst this is always an exciting prospect though, it can often lead to disappointment when the only titles we see hitting the scheme are ones we’d rather forget. So, with February’s games being announced recently, let’s take a look and see if they are any good."

Better than January yes, but some way off the highs that we've seen in the past. Not going to complain about free though and I'll obviously be picking up all the games included.

lxeasy2666d ago (Edited 2666d ago )

I'm excited to play Starwars again, don't know much about the other games though

It's very useful considering the cost of the service. What do some folk expect.

neil3632666d ago

Are you saying the service is expensive?

neil3632666d ago

That's cool then. I don't understand those who complain about a few quid a month.

CocoaBrother2666d ago

I'm happy Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is part of it cause my friend and I wanted to play it.

DaFeelz2666d ago

I'll check out Project Cars. Always wanted to see it. The rest, no thanks.

Project Cars looks promising

Mrveryodd2666d ago (Edited 2666d ago )
