God of War 3 is the top game over Mass Effect, but these guys are fanboys so who cares. They release such useless articles.

lightningsax5151d ago (Edited 5151d ago )

I'm not finding this guy's review on ME2 - only someone else writing for another regional Examiner. I wonder what he has to say about the planet mining mini-game, since it was a really hot-button issue when the game first came out.

I really don't agree with a core value listed in the FFXIII part - "While the fan base may be spilt on the game (like previous Final Fantasy titles), Final Fantasy XIII does have some redeeming qualities including..."

The reason: Many love-it-or-hate-it types of games are polarizing because they follow an unrelenting vision instead of gobs of stupid focus groups. Sure, FFXIII panders to its audience at times also, but that's not the point - *you have no reason to redeem yourself when you do something daring.* For better or worse.

I didn't like 2,3 or 4. I hate buttonmashers so couldn't really get onto Gow3 or bayonetta. And heavy rain was a bit weird and lacked interactivity.

Honestly, just cause 2 is a lot of fun. It lacks and kind of a story, but it is an ideal sandbox game.

>:( how did ME2 overtake GoW3?

And FF13, I'll keep comment to myself.....

WildArmed5151d ago

I dont mind the list.
As long as my fav games make the top ten list. ( the order is always subject to debate)

I'd kick off Bayonetta n put Darksiders @ no. 10

Commander TK5150d ago

GOW3 was #1. Would post these kinf of comment that u fanboys posted too? I respect other people´s opinions, but if you´re gonna cry and whine about your favorite game not being #1, then may God only help u.

good top 5, ME2 is the best western game I have ever played and best Xbox 360 ga e I have played, GOW3 and Bayonetta while superb cant compare when an RPG is done as brilliantly as ME2,

I mean theres only so good hack and slash games can be

ME2 is out and out the best game this year, Heavy Rain, Bayonetta and GOW3 are joint 2nd for me

"Mass Effect 2 is an all-around excellent RPG and is one of the best games to come out this generation. You won’t find a better title released in the first-quarter of 2010."

Couldnt agree more. God Of War is an *outstanding* game, but it doesnt have the depth, length, story, nor the incredible replayability of Mass Effect 2. Not to mention it is the best IP created this Gen. So far ME2 is my #1 GOTY contender.

I know alot of ppl on this site will disagree since it's not a PS3 game, but if you havent played ME1 & ME2, you are really missing out.

PS3 exclusives: 3
360 exclusives: 0

Agheil5151d ago

so tru lol and to me GOW 3 is still # 1

CountDracula5151d ago

I would put Heavy Rain above God of War 3.

Even though I haven't played it yet.
(Indigo Prophecy FTW!)

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave43d ago (Edited 43d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
