Top 10 Games Released in the 1st Quarter of 2010

2010 is shaping up to be one of the most jam-packed years in the gaming industry with many excellent games already released in the first-quarter alone. Here are ten can't miss games so far this year.

God of War 3 is the top game over Mass Effect, but these guys are fanboys so who cares. They release such useless articles.

I'm not finding this guy's review on ME2 - only someone else writing for another regional Examiner. I wonder what he has to say about the planet mining mini-game, since it was a really hot-button issue when the game first came out.

I really don't agree with a core value listed in the FFXIII part - "While the fan base may be spilt on the game (like previous Final Fantasy titles), Final Fantasy XIII does have some redeeming qualities including..."

The reason: Many love-it-or-hate-it types of games are polarizing because they follow an unrelenting vision instead of gobs of stupid focus groups. Sure, FFXIII panders to its audience at times also, but that's not the point - *you have no reason to redeem yourself when you do something daring.* For better or worse.

I didn't like 2,3 or 4. I hate buttonmashers so couldn't really get onto Gow3 or bayonetta. And heavy rain was a bit weird and lacked interactivity.

Honestly, just cause 2 is a lot of fun. It lacks and kind of a story, but it is an ideal sandbox game.

good top 5, ME2 is the best western game I have ever played and best Xbox 360 ga e I have played, GOW3 and Bayonetta while superb cant compare when an RPG is done as brilliantly as ME2,

Couldnt agree more. God Of War is an *outstanding* game, but it doesnt have the depth, length, story, nor the incredible replayability of Mass Effect 2. Not to mention it is the best IP created this Gen. So far ME2 is my #1 GOTY contender.

I know alot of ppl on this site will disagree since it's not a PS3 game, but if you havent played ME1 & ME2, you are really missing out.

It is a really great game, give it a try if you haven't.

On the other hand, I didn't like Yakuza3, it felt cheap for me.

They really should be tied, but if one had to be given the top spot, I'm glad it was Mass Effect 2. Seriously one of the best games I've ever played

Absolutely, Mass Effect 2 is the best game I have played this Gen hands down. Serious props to God of War too, it was fabulous.

god of war 3 over rpg lite any day, didn't care much for the previous god of war games before but this one will blow you away.

Anyone who thinks its just a button smasher needs to play on the harder difficulties.

Hell even last year's dragon age beats mass effect hands down , i think it even has more sales, and its the way a proper rpg should be done in my book. Mass effect just got a hell of a free ride with the big hype machine, a descent game but # 2 so far (no 3 if dragon age would have been released 1st quarter).

I would put GOW III at number 1 and move Heavy Rain to number 3 but good list non the less.

Yeah, I have to agree with Lord Vader. I remember reading about Mass Effect back in 2005, and since I knew Bioware was making it, after playing Kotor and Jade Empire, I knew the game was gonna be something special. From the epic intro cinema for ME1, I just knew this game was going to be awesome.

People like to be so picky, and try and find faults in it. Hello, no game is perfect cause they're made by imperfect human beings. Instead of focusing on the negative aspect, allow yourself to focus on the positive aspect of the game. You can find fault in any game out there.

And I'm sorry, as awesome as GOW3 is, ME2 has it beat hands down in every department Lord Vader mentioned. And after seeing that last image on my screen, that HOLY SH@T scene, the wait for ME3 is going to be painful. Stop being fanboys some of you, and buy both systems and a PC. Enjoy games on all the platforms and stop being blind loyalists. Mass Effect is the best game I've played this console generation. Kudos Bioware!!

I'd replace Bayonetta with Darksiders then knock it a few spots down the list and replace MLB 10 with the Dragon Age Origins: Awakening expansion. ME2 and GOW3 were both good games, but I'd give GOW3 the number 1 spot since I was a little disappointed with the RPG being watered down in ME2.
